For my 100th review I wanted to talk about an album that means a lot me, and the obvious pick of the bunch is My Bloody Valentine's 'Loveless', my favourite album of all time.

My history with this album started when I was around 14, I was in a bookstore and I saw one of those 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die books, and decided: "why not?". To give more context, at the time my musical taste was far from what it is today. I tended to avoid anything that wasn't classic rock like ... read more

A 12 minute long, intense and raw powerviolence album isn't necessarily something I could imagine tedious but while 'Youth Attack!' very quickly and aggressively establishes where it stands and what it's about, the excitement quickly fell for me when I was met with very little deviation off the "loud and ... read more

'Wrong' contains many elements that make for a great punk album: an anxious and manic atmosphere, unrelenting instrumentation, memorable songwriting, variety in its tracklisting and on top of that, an unforgettable album cover.

Even though this project is dark and almost misanthropic in its nature and ... read more

For a compilation album of scattered tracks recorded between 1992 and 1996, 'Eyedazzler' flows incredibly well and showcases a lot incredible moments from a generally obscure and undocumented band, considering this compilation, not even a studio album, is easily their most quintessential release.

I will admit that ... read more

There's something magical about this album, something that brings me such warmth and comfort. O'Hara's vocals are stunning, her style delightfully eclectic, the instrumentation elegant and delicate, and it all comes together to form one of the most unique pop albums I've ever heard, an album that takes little bits of ... read more

'6 & 12 String Guitar' explores the limits of acoustic guitar as it showcases compositions so dense, complex and complete that it's easy to forget the backbone of this record is just 2 acoustic guitars and a great deal of talent.

As enjoyable as this project was however, it's probably not something I'll ... read more

Hello, I hope you're having a good day. I am reaching out in regards to my next AOTY Icon Interview. If you're unfamiliar with the series I crowdsource for questions. This time around for January 2021 edition, I will be interviewing PipePanic. The question is, what is a music-related question you can ask Pipe. Please refrain from asking questions as simple as "What is your favorite album?" Please also refrain from asking for thoughts about a specific album or asking joke questions. I ask that you ask something thought-provoking and ambiguous. I will be selecting the best questions to ask Pipe. If you can't think of any questions, you have a week to think about it. I also recommend checking my shoutbox before asking the question just to verify it hasn't been asked already. All participants will be credited for their questions. The interview will be posted by the end of the month. Thank you!

2020 has been a huge roadblock, a year that a lot of people would want to forget. Filled with hardships and pain. As this year is coming to a close, I wanted to ask a question for a list. What song would you listen to, to end the year off entirely? It can either be a send-off song, or a song that you would listen to in high hopes for 2021. Hope I'm not bothering, and if you respond, thanks for the help!
