For my 100th review I wanted to talk about an album that means a lot me, and the obvious pick of the bunch is My Bloody Valentine's 'Loveless', my favourite album of all time.

My history with this album started when I was around 14, I was in a bookstore and I saw one of those 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die books, and decided: "why not?". To give more context, at the time my musical taste was far from what it is today. I tended to avoid anything that wasn't classic rock like ... read more

2017 was a prolific year for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. After releasing an album as ambitious and well-recieved as 'Nonagon Infinity' in 2016, it perhaps would not have been surprising for any other band to take a step back and allow themselves an extended period of time to recharge their creativity and refuel their passion, but of course we all know by now that King Gizzard would go on to release 5 albums the following year, 5 widely varied and eclectic albums, but the cream of the ... read more

slowthai is easily one of the most eccentric and exciting rappers to come out of the UK in recent years, and certainly one of the most successful in forging an audience for himself worldwide. His debut, 'Nothing Great About Britain' impressed many, myself included, with its brilliant songwriting, captivating production and slowthai's impassioned and rebellious attitude, and since the release of that album, he's continued to impress with an eclectic array of ... read more

Post-punk is a genre close to my own heart, but recently I've seen myself finding it a little over-saturated with albums that, for me personally, do only the bare minimum and fail to push the genre in any new or compelling direction. Just last month we got albums from Shame and from Viagra Boys, both of which were decently enjoyable, but left me sorely disappointed by an overall scarcity when it comes to any inventive and forward-thinking moments. 'For the first time' ... read more

One thing I didn't expect to be listening to and reviewing today was a new Hayley Williams project but here we are.

'FLOWERS for VASES / descansos' is a deviation from the synth heavy alternative dance found on its predecessor 'Petals for Armor', as it instead sees her take on a very intimate and stripped back indie folk approach, an approach that isn't entirely unexpected to anyone familiar with her 'Petals for Armor: Self Serenades' EP from late last year, an EP that sew her re-record a few ... read more

I've admittedly always had a soft spot for the Foo Fighters, but I always saw them more so as "the band that has some great singles but a largely forgettable album discography", and 'Medicine at Midnight' really doesn't do much to convince me otherwise. It's seldom downright awful, but so much of this album is just an insignificant collection of alternative rock pastiche with really poorly incorporated pop elements sprinkled throughout.

Obviously the primary thing I expect from a Foo ... read more

Hi there! I hope you are having an amazing, happy and healthy day today <3

I’m making a ‘Comfort album’ list which would be a go-to album to listen to when we are upset or having a hard time, as music is a source of happiness or comfort to many people. As we are facing such a hard time right now with the COVID-19 pandemic, I believe with this list, we can as a community gather as many albums in a list for anyone who may be looking for a certain album that puts them in a good mood, calms them down, or like I’ve stated before.. comforts them! If you would like to submit an album that does that effect for you, please list these 4 things, album name, artist, and a sentence as to WHY you love this album and WHY it’s such a comfort album for you. It could be because of the lyrics, how it makes you feel.. etc. You may explain it in either one sentence or however many sentences you want, it is your choice! BUT, If you do not have one, no worries then <3 Thank you for reading!
