For my 100th review I wanted to talk about an album that means a lot me, and the obvious pick of the bunch is My Bloody Valentine's 'Loveless', my favourite album of all time.

My history with this album started when I was around 14, I was in a bookstore and I saw one of those 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die books, and decided: "why not?". To give more context, at the time my musical taste was far from what it is today. I tended to avoid anything that wasn't classic rock like ... read more

It’s not hard to see why 'My Favorite Things' has become such an iconic album and a staple in the discography of the legendary John Coltrane. It is notably the first album to feature him playing soprano saxophone, which was, funnily enough, purchased for him by none other than Miles Davis the year prior, and one which he certainly put to good use to create one of the most majestic and gorgeous modal jazz albums of all time. Compositionally the music here is less technically complex than ... read more

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I adore BROCKHAMPTON. The group have been an omnipresent force in my life since I first got into them with the release of their first 'SATURATION' project, and since then my life has pretty much been an endless cycle of waiting for the next BROCKHAMPTON album to come out.

A common consensus among some fans online is that the group just haven't been on a steady decline since the 'SATURATION' trilogy, and while I agree that those projects have an energy and ... read more

With Steve Albini back on production duty, 'The Shadow I Remember' sees Cloud Nothings back at their best in years, delivering punches with their signature energy and charisma.

Steve Albini may be the most famous name in rock production, but he also has a very uniquely recognisable style; a very raw and bare-bones style which admittedly has the potential to clash with the dynamic of the artist he is producing, especially when you consider his openness to produce just about anything. Cloud ... read more

Whether you love Kanye or hate him, it's hard to ignore just how big of a cultural event the drawn out and confusing rollout process behind 'Donda' has become, and it's safe to say people won't stop talking about Kanye and 'Donda' anytime soon now that the project is actually out. No matter how frustrating it was waiting for half a dozen different "release dates," only to get absolutely nothing every time, when looking back at the whole process, I think it's safe to say that we will ... read more

It's been a while hasn't it? I'll explain in more detail why I've been almost entirely absent from the site in a paragraph at the end of this review but long story short, I've been in a bit of a rut, overwhelmed with a lot of what's been going on in my life, and unable to really find the motivation to sit down and write a review I'm truly happy with. The good news is, I've been getting back on track recently and there's one album I've listened to over the past two months that in particular that ... read more

So I'm gonna listen to as many critically acclaimed albums from the last 70 years (according to RYM and AOTY) as possible over the course of God knows how long and document my experiences here. Why? ...
