Yung Lean - STARZ

Production has always been the saving grace for Yung Lean's music in my eyes. Everything else never really stood out to me: his songwriting, his deliveries, all left me bored more often than impressed. Yet there was always something about his dreamy, atmospheric production that I couldn't help but find entrancing. 'STARZ' however, easily feels like Jonatan's most meticulously crafted, thought out, refined and enjoyable project from start to finish. On top of the fantastic production you could come to expect from him, the songwriting and performances from Lean perfectly play alongside the instrumentals to build an album that is easily Yung Leans best in my opinion, and an album that may go down as a defining release in the cloud rap genre.

I think he’s stepped up from cloud rap into... like, Alternative R&B. The production here is absolutely mesmerizing.

I agree, it's hard to even fit this release into one genre bubble, it's a really cool stirring pot filled with cloud rap, r&b, ambient pop and even witch house in my opinion
