For the first time has easily been one of the most anticipated releases of 2021 so far. Black Country, New Road have gained a lot of popularity in 2020 and 2021 and had everything marked out for their debut album. The hype, the inventive sound, this was going to be the shit. I can't say a lot for a good introduction, so I'll cut right to the chase - this album is overrated. Hell, the whole band is overrated. Nico? Not so much, but we'll talk about that later. I don't get the appeal of The Velvet Underground - I understand their influence, but I don't know how that makes the sound of the music any good. The Dark Side of the Moon is one of the greatest examples of an album that works as a full album. Whenever you hear people talking about this thing, how many times do you hear about individual songs? Not very often, I would assume - at least, that's what I've experienced in my discussions about Pink Floyd. I’m making a ‘Comfort album’ list which would be a go-to album to listen to when we are upset or having a hard time, as music is a source of happiness or comfort to many people. As we are facing such a hard time right now with the COVID-19 pandemic, I believe with this list, we can as a community gather as many albums in a list for anyone who may be looking for a certain album that puts them in a good mood, calms them down, or like I’ve stated before.. comforts them! If you would like to submit an album that does that effect for you, please list these 4 things, album name, artist, and a sentence as to WHY you love this album and WHY it’s such a comfort album for you. It could be because of the lyrics, how it makes you feel.. etc. You may explain it in either one sentence or however many sentences you want, it is your choice!
