Plastic Hearts

After two of my favorite AOTY reviewers spoke in favor of this record I had to give it a try. I get the idea of producing a contemporary poprecord by going back to the 80s. And this is where my troubles start, I actually think Miley is gifted with a great voice, I mostly listen to her by some live clips on youtube. Here the music works really well on 2/3 of the record but this autotune shit just kills it for me. She sounds like an anime version of herself and she is far too often in Pink territory (rock pressure) that I miss my main reason to listen to her. While her voice sounds great on tracks like Angels Like You or High those track are the most boring old Country Pop. I´ll wait for her Folklore record or Miley´s American Recordings. Until then this might be her best when I put my disappointment over the spoiled gift of her great voice aside.
