Babeheaven's debut is like a rainy day spent reading a book in your bedroom. Sure, it's relaxing and all, but at the end of it you feel like it's really gone nowhere. Gentle trip hop beats float in and out, some wobbly guitar shows up here and there, all wrapped up in a pleasant enough package. There are a few highlights, but those are most notably the singles that preceded the album ("Cassette Beat" being the best of those, and the one that led me to listen to this entire album). Otherwise, it's all gentle bedroom pop that evokes a pleasant, reflective mood but serves more as aural wallpaper than something to be actively listened to.
