I don't even know how to start off here. My expectations for this album were basically neutral, I wasn't too hyped or disappointed with it's announcement, and the demo projects just made me think this was going to be more unfinished throwaways. The album releases, and as soon as I saw the 18 song tracklist, I felt like this was going to be a slog to get through.
No, this isn't a return to form. I'm not trying to spread hate, but I feel like Kanye's soul has been ... read more
Nice new single here. I like the different approach on a more concise song, and the ending was a highlight as well.
This album is one of the most solid experimental pieces ever. There's just so much personality, vulnerability, and just overall emotion being displayed throughout everything here. Every song is unique and different, and it takes so much influences from genres such as glitch and rock that it just becomes its own truly unique experience. I couldn't explain to you the exact experience and feeling I get when listening to this project, you can just simply tell the amount of passion put ... read more
The fact that I came here after listening to the album to express how good this specific song is certainly says something, as the entire project was one of the best to release this year. The chorus is so beautiful, and i'm glad redveil allowed it to repeat so many times in the song, because it makes it so much stronger. Along with that, the verses from both redveil and Smino just show off so much creativity and tell a nice story with such short verses.
With the entire album released, I see the greater appeal of Drum Show, because that buildup is top notch. In fact, the best part about this album is its pacing and endings. I feel every track has a standout moment that makes it more memorable. The first half of City Walls, the second verse of RAWFEAR, the screams of Drum Show, the inflections on Garbage, the chorus on The Contract, and the list goes on.
Even though this may not be sonically dark, I appreciate Tyler being more accepting to ... read more
One of the most impressive comeback albums ever released in one of the driest years for hip-hop in recent memory.
Let God Sort Em Out starts off with one of the best 4-track runs of all time, yet the project is consistent; not frontloaded in any way. The Birds Don’t Sing has, by far, the best chorus on the album. Not only are John Legend’s vocals heavenly, but the way Clipse begins to discuss their parents' death by telling a story about the events that were happening around ... read more
It's a 10/10 song, of course, but even after multiple listens I'm having a hard time figuring out what makes this track so much better than 'The Contract'.
The Contract absolutely blew me out of the water, with the band releasing a song that is top 5, possibly even top 3 in their entire discography. I think I'm just a fan of the sound that song was going for. I can't blame them for taking Breach a step into another direction because I feel like even though I ... read more
When people say a song is "ahead of it's time," this is what they actually mean. Such futuristic and unique production and vocals in 2004 on a POP SONG is absolutely mind-blowing.
One of, if not THE best indie rock song ever?
Not only does this thing keep you intrigued for 13 minutes straight everytime, but you can also definitely picture yourself on a beach listening to this, even if the lyrical matter is a bit thought-provoking.
This album cover is probably one of, if not the most recognizable artwork in music history. I have never seen as much merchandise for an album compared to The Dark Side of the Moon, and after listening to the album, it's easy to see why it has held so much significance in our time.
This album creates one of the best atmospheres that i've ever heard in a musical record, ever. The Dark Side of the Moon is a transcendal listening experience. The cover and title alone tell you all you ... read more
Top tier Kendrick song and one of his most personal and insanely vicious cuts that he's ever released. The themes of oppression scattered throughout are marvelous.
My opinion on this song has completely changed. I've been replaying this everyday. I can't stop it, I simply cant. I will not lie, I think this is the best Carti verse and performance ever, he just sounds like a dreadful and undefeated criminal. I mean, he literally says he feels LIKE JASON. The production is heaven-sent. The verses are villainous, problematic, and just overall vile. Maybe not a good song from a normal standpoint, but I can't try to be a hater of a song that ... read more
So, it seems like I've forgotten that I've ever given a review for this.....ooops.
It's okay, CLIPPING! I'm back, and I won't forget about you for another 4 months ever again! Don't quote me on that.
After giving this and especially Dominator, Change the Channel, and...well...that's it. Sadly, I haven't come back to most of these songs, but that's less of this album being mediocre or forgettable and more of 2025 just having so much more stacked ... read more
This album really means a lot to me, whenever I listen to it I get an immense feeling of nostalgia for the earlier times where I basically had no musical knowledge outside of the things my parents played me, this being one of those special cases.
This may just be the nostalgia kicking in, but I genuinely believe this is a 10/10 album. This is tied for my favorite posthumous release of all time with Circles by Mac Miller, and although this album runs on the shorter side, Michael Jackson's ... read more
Wow, this band is very successful in making songs that people completely dislike. I've liked (using the definition of that word loosely) most of the singles that Maroon 5 has released, but this one is horrendous. This is the closest you can probably legally get to being outright explicit on the radio. The chorus of this song is basically just "I did it with a woman". There's no substance at all, it's literally just making a statement. And Adam Levine cannot perform this ... read more
This is a masterpiece, 61 is a bit underrated for a song like this imo. Although I understand because the second half of the song isn't as absolutely RIDICULOUS as the first part, especially the 3-5 minute mark. This is (although not easily because Nights and Seigfried exist) Frank Ocean's all time greatest song.
Disappointingly, (or not to some) hip-hop superstar Jacques Webster was dissed on this single serving as a rollout to the upcoming Clipse album.
Well, go get them, Pusha T. Although the chances of the rapper winning in a beef against the artist are immensely high, there is still a possibility Webster may release something on the level of Family Matters by Drake.
Whoever wins, I'm definitely ready to see some pointless shade being thrown around between two grown adults just for it to ... read more
