Meshuggah - Nothing

This was my introduction to Meshuggah, and WOW this is incredible. For being called "Nothing", this album was certainly something special. This is the real originator of the modern "Djent-y" sound, and this is a perfect example of that done right. There are constantly some insane rhythms going on that are impossible for most to think up, along with the most downtuned 7-strings of all time. I know that some people prefer the remaster because of the fact that the 7-strings tuned this low sound weird, but honestly that weirdness is one of my favorite parts of this album. Its so messy-sounding, but only in good ways; obviously this is extremely polished, but the way that it is really just so sludge-sounding makes it really unique. There were some parts that stood out to me, but overall, this just feels like one really long track, which in turn made it feel relatively short for being 53 minutes long. Really worth checking out if you haven't yet, as this is a really amazing listen.
