The Killers Project #6
A step down from their previous album Wonderful Wonderful; it seems the band saved all their good material for the last stretch of the album. (Thank you Weyes Blood for saving this album 😌 )
Fully ridding himself of the accent, Brandon delivers a samey and boring vocal delivery with Imploding the Mirage. (Maybe that's one of the things missing from releases post Day & Age?) With an exciting, synth heavy, and up-tempo last three tracks; the rest of the album almost isn't worth sitting through to get there. It's their generic heartland rock style they've chosen to craft and identify themselves with and didn't capture my attention at all. Mostly blending into background noise.
While their are signs of their roots here, it feels like it's still missing some charm their older releases had. Not offensive, but not great.
