I feel bad for Trippie. No, his music isn't perfect, but it isn't bad either (except neon shark/pegasus, those sucked). And his albums are consistently rated lower than his contemporaries, even when they make worse albums. Trippie deserves more respect, it feels like people hate on him because he's an easy target. I wouldn't say I'm a fan but I'm becoming one out of sheer sympathy.

This album is solid. It's very derivative of WLR, but let's be honest, everything in trap has been since it dropped. Trippie's hooks are usually okay, his verses are good, and the beats on this project are honestly all awesome. There's a dark vibe that is obviously heavily inspired by Carti's vamp aesthetic, and Trippie manages to put a new spin on the sound. Trippie's voice is unique and cool as always. I've been waiting for a more aggressive, darker album from Trippie and I think this delivered.

As far as negatives go, there are a couple. The features on this album mostly sucked. Juice's was amazing (as you'd expect from the best artist in his class), Future's and Travis Scott's were okay, Summrs was meh, and the rest sucked. As a (at this point former) Ski fan, that song was particularly disappointing. Ski and Trippie's styles do not mesh well at all, and Ski was kind of terrible. I know life hasn't been kind to Ski, so I don't blame him, but it feels like he just doesn't care anymore. The only features that were bad enough to ruin songs for me were Chief Keef, Lil Baby, Lucki, and DaBaby, but a lot of them dragged their songs down. Also the album is way too fucking long, even if most of the songs are pretty good.

When it comes down to it, this album set out to be a darker, heavier take on Trippie's sound, and it did exactly that. There are some glaring negative aspects to the album but they're not enough to bring this down to the user score of fucking 44. Trippie really doesn't deserve this treatment.

Least favorites: Toilet Water (fuck that song), High Hopes, Die Die, Armageddon, Nun
