The uptempos, specially 'My Name Is Prince' sound like a more developed version of the vision he had for the Batman soundtrack and the ballads are up to par his best work. The length and interludes come off as too self indulgent but don't outweigh the qualities of tracks like 'Sweet Baby', 'Damn U' or 'The Morning Papers'. Despite its confounding closer, Prince proves to adapt nicely to the new decade and provides enough to sustain his artistic credibility.
