*NSYNC - Better Place (From TROLLS Band Together)
76
Ok, let me get this straight. They put *NSYNC back together for a Trolls soundtrack single with a song that's pretty much about sexual climax and sounds like the Jonas Brothers meet 2015-16 pop trends?
Róisín Murphy - Hit Parade
70
Further proof that every TERF is fucking stupid cause why the hell would you sabotage yourself like that? It's a shame because any musical achievement here is eternally tainted.
Ashley McBryde - The Devil I Know
50
Besides a couple of songs, I never truly clicked with Ashley's music. In 'The Devil I Know', those exceptions would be 'Learned to Lie' and the title track. It's hard to tell what's special about anything else here.
Tyler Childers - Rustin' in the Rain
66
'In Your Love' is a great showcase for a lacking project. 'Phone Calls and Emails' and 'Help Me Make It Through the Night' are worth your time but there's little truly substantial to 'Rustin' in the Rain'. It's a premature project.
Tinashe - BB/ANG3L

Girl, what the hell is this title?
Olivia Rodrigo - GUTS
90
Olivia Rodrigo kicks off her gut-punching sophomore effort with an 'Out of Time' R.E.M. inspired melody that soon turns into an explosive Hole-like chorus. Yes, you read that right. 'all-american bitch' is one hell of a start that would cause a commotion in the hands of any of her peers but comes across as inherent with Rodrigo. She portraits things exactly how they are, dealing with the incessant pressures of being a woman with ironically but not making light of any of it. The sincerity ... read more
Troye Sivan - Got Me Started
52
Great track if it wasn't for the jarring sample.
Drake - Slime You Out
53
You ain't 'bout the shit you rappin' about.
Zara Larsson & David Guetta - On My Love
76
There's a gravity on Zara's voice that really makes this work better than it should.
77
'Escândalo Íntimo' has a nice proposal to whomever crosses path with it. Luísa clashes genre interestingly enough to craft a unified vision that's solid, singular enough and intriguing. Track #4, 'Luísa Manequim' for example blends MPB and Rock. It's something that would make Rita Lee proud if it had a bit more of edge on the mixing.
Also it's worth noticing a chunk here only works on the context of the album, but that’s obviously not a bad thing. They glue ... read more
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
77
Putting ’Tell Her Tonight’ as track #2 was a bit of trolling…
Also check out the Drowned in Sound review of this if you can.
Burna Boy - I Told Them...
56
There's barely any variation on 'I Told Them...' but Burna Boy is sittin' on top of a collection of decent enough tracks. I'd just caution him to be a bit humbler next time. The music is not quite there yet.
P!nk - Try This
61
While Britney and Christina were releasing ‘In The Zone’ and ’Stripped’, P!nk was putting out an album like this, and still had the audacity to mock them. Look, it may not seem like it, but I like P!nk. I’m always rooting for her and have no problem giving her flowers when they’re due. When she gets it right, it’s really damn good but my issue here and with her sometimes is she tries to convince us and herself she’s a superior artist than her ... read more
Maroon 5 - Payphone
69
Wiz Khalifa's verse goes so hard and that's because it doesn't match the song at all.
The Chainsmokers - Summertime Friends
25
Substandard Jonas Brothers and that says A LOT.
Nelly Furtado - Keep Going Up
76
Disappointing. Not because it's bad, far from it, but because it lacks any of the effervescent energy these names bring to memory when put together.
Snoop Dogg - Drop It Like It's Hot
100
Truly one of the most inventive, fun and unapologetic hip-hop tracks in history.
Robert Forster - The Candle and the Flame
73
'The Candle and the Flame' is a nice pondering of the fleeting and important things in life.
The Strokes - Room on Fire
90
'Room On Fire' has a warmer palette than 'Is This It'. Although it's just as good, the sense of novelty has already faded.
Ashnikko - WEEDKILLER
55
'WEEDKILLER' is an album I got bored with as it progressed. I like how she paints the picture in track 1 but she's not able to sustain it throughout. And it's really not that much of a new ideia. Although she's not common place, it's far from unique. Not to mention, as a listener, her voice is really an obstacle to surpass. Points for trying.
