This record should be used to show people how important an album’s flow should be. Because this is a smooth ass listen with every song building off one another beautifully. Cameron Winter’s writing here is once in a lifetime, he is like the Paul Simon of our generation. What a perfect album. I’ve truly been killed.
Genuinely think GnR’s knockin on heavens door is up there as one of the worst covers ever.
I mean obviously it’s a 100. I first heard “Mr. Self Destruct” when I was seventeen in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. I had heard the classic Nine Inch Nails songs, “Closer”, “Hand that feeds”, “Wish”, “Head Like A Hole”, etc. but when I heard “Mr. Self Destruct” it changed my perception on music as a whole. I didn’t know music could sound so vile and vitriolic. Pure hate and seething self loathing spat ... read more
After listening to this about 5 or 6 times I’ve really grown to enjoy it as much as I remember loving this band back in middle/high school. Tame Impala making house music is possibly the most boring thing I could imagine
Absolute classic from my formative years (watching Gorillaz music videos on my phone during lunch in eight grade thinking I was #different). Damon Albarn is a genius and has such a great ear for production and experimentation. The features also add to the album and don’t distract from the tracks unlike future Gorillaz projects.
I’m dancing with all those horses and let me say there’s one absolutely cutting a rug rn
Tyler’s response to Ian’s XXL freestyle falls a little short of Ian’s masterpiece but, is still a great listen.
Fatherhood is a scary concept. How do we prevent our kids from making the same mistakes as us? You can’t. This album grapples with the concepts of fatherhood and what it means to be a man in general and I can’t get enough of it. As a southerner myself I had never really felt an attachment to country music although it has surrounded and permeated through my entire life but this was the first real country record to touch me (if any of you have recommendations please send them my way). ... read more
Nick Eh 30 replaying the “king” part is so fucking funny he truly is the target audience. This song sucks doggie dick
Turning a diss track into a club banger is the most disrespectful shit I’ve seen since Eobard Thawne’s day
