Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine

While it’s good and solid, when you’ve listened to Ariana’s last three albums, this album really doesn’t offer anything new or insightful into Ariana’s artistic vision. It’s a rehash of all her previous sounds, but doesn’t improve on previous efforts.

this honestly doesn't sound that bad upon revisiting.... she needs to get back on her country shit me thinks
Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

i had a big lana phase a few years where I was streaming her whole discography en masse, then I was turned off by her and now I’m kind of getting back into her again.

born to die has aged okay for the most parts, but knowing how her discography has evolved over time (ultraviolence and honeymoon are VAST improvements and a far better display of her talents), I cant help but feel that this album feels a little dated in 2023.

still have to commend it for its beautiful mix of pop and hip ... read more

i wouldn’t have expected anything else from madonna’s daughter.
Tame Impala - Currents

it blurs the line between pop and psychdelic music yet it's also strangefully catchy and well produced.. i don't think there's an another album that sounds quite like this
Madonna - Ray of Light

after almost a full decade of being mocked, ridiculed and even being compared to satan, madonna returned in 1998 with a grandiose introspective pop album that showed her biggest growth, both as an artist and as a human being, maybe ever.

whereas 1989's like a prayer felt like a cumulative album that showed the greatest aspects of the ''madonna brand'' come to life as an artistic statement, ray of light truly felt like the end goal that madonna has been trying to reach for many years in her ... read more

''this is for everybody, you gotta take care of your body'' ariana grande sings on the beautiful closing track get well soon, that is an ode to everyone struggling with stress, physical or mental pain, which I assume quite a lot of us go through these days. not just the closing track, but the whole album is filled with themes of self affirmation, positivity and an overall light aura. this packed with her most versatile and innovative sound across her whole discography, makes this miss grande's ... read more
Britney Spears - In the Zone

screw britney2001. THIS album was the real transition from teen sensation to adult pop star. it's radiant throughout the whole album, and the ride almost never gets boring, with the exception of ''shadow'' which i feel should have been replaced with the outtake guilty that provides more context into the justin/britney situation

such a fun, hedonistic, carefree, sexy album that borrows from a lot of 2000s pop elements, but yet sounds fresher than ever in 2022. love this album to death!

Adele - 30

decided to relisten, since it’s been a while that this came out. and i’m still disappointed with this. honestly say what you want about 25’s formulaic nature, atleast that album had some great fucking pop songs like when we were young.

this album is just devoid of any magic that made adele so beloved in the first place. the ‘deeply personal album’ excuse doesnt work here when there are barely any memorable melodies or vocal moments that truly stand out.

Lady Gaga - Chromatica

as a long time gaga fan I have always been ambivalent towards this album. on one hand i feel like it lacks the artistic edge that made gaga so good in the first place (and what made me appreciate her) but then i hear songs like 911 and sine from above, and i feel like she still got it.

overall this album is not a bad experience at all but a lot of tracks do leave me wanting for more. fun tonight especially is a really weak song. also the fact that this is the only gaga album where she doesn't ... read more
