PinkPantheress - Heaven knows
91
This in some ways feels like a culmination of what pinkpantheress is. A lot of it sounds like a more fleshed out version of her past work. There are some songs which hint to a maybe a new direction in the future?? Like Capable of Love, I'm excited to see where she goes from here!

UPDATE: it grew on me so much, I just get soo much from so many songs. Another life, The aisle and Mosquito are endlessly fun!!

CHAI - CHAI

Super fun, tho it can be a little inconsistent and some ideas didn't work for me, but the energy and personality made it a delightful listen!
Matcha and I Can't Organizeee are awesome!
ODD EYE CIRCLE - ODD EYE CIRCLE <Version Up>

Very stylish and dreamy. Wish it was longer..
NewJeans - Get Up

Super infectious vocal melodies, amazing production and so much personality and style!!
This 12 min ep is almost perfect pop throughout, its just so much. There's is a very heavy pinkpantheress influence but that might be because I really haven't listened to the genre that much.
There is so much variety on here too, I'm confident their eventual full length album has the potential to be one of the best pop albums of the year, I can't wait for whatever NewJeans does next
Travis Scott, Bad Bunny & The Weeknd - K-POP

Newjeans dropped better K-Pop today
Mac Miller - Swimming

I wish there were more sonic variety on this, a lot of the songs can sound a little similar, but even at its weakest this album is always pleasant. I could feel how sincere Mac is on this, Mac's passing has changed how I perceive a lot of this album and it just feels more emotional...
I also want to point out how well this album flows and would recommend this to anyone who wants to get into Mac's music!
Lil Uzi Vert - Pink Tape

After years of anticipation, leaks, false infos, lies..Pink Tape is finally here! Did it live up to the hype?
I believe it did. Before I even get into the individual tracks I have to say it was incredibly brave to do so much weird shit on whats possibly your most anticipated album. Not all of the experimentation works, its true, but the album listening experience is just so exciting and honestly fascinating. I just want to know what was going through Uzi's mind when they made some of these. I ... read more

That pinkpantheress stare..
Autechre - Incunabula

I didn't like this as much as their other albums, honestly it was a little disappointing given how much I liked Bike on its own. I didn't find the middle chunk of this album that interesting. It really picks up near the end though. Lowride and Windwind are easy highlights. This ,so far among the Autechre albums I have heard, has been the only one with a strong ending, I find it funny that this time I'm not a huge fan of the rest of the album instead.
Excited to check Amber out though, the ... read more

Fun and manages to stay fresh throughout its runtime but other than a few moments I wouldn't say anything stands out especially
Warmpop is amazing tho, I can't get it out of my head
Jean Dawson - PIXEL BATH

Its has a lot of interesting moments, I just could not get used to his vocal style even though I have given it multiple listens. I would still recommend it to anyone who wants to listen to something unique and out there.
Ken Carson - Project X
60
Ken himself is the weakest link of this album and his music in general in my opinion. The beats themselves are so much fun I wish Ken Carson's performance would be more interesting too atleast matching the energy the production brings. Its very surprising to me that his personality thats very apparent in his interviews outside of music is nowhere to be found in his music. He also seems to struggle a bit with having any catchy hooks though its better in Project X than his other albums in my ... read more

Its just so undeniably fun, you can't hate on it
Cochise - NO ONE'S NICE TO ME
70
Cochise really went 7/7 but there are no highlights. I would say the album maintains a general quality of good/great songs throughout but I'm not really blown away by anything here.
I love his energy and personality and the beats are very interesting too. Its a fun listen and is short and concise enough that it never gets boring, I'm just a little disappointed that there is nothing that comes close to Don't Run or Tell 'em.
KayCyy - TW2052

Its a little frustrating that 3 of the songs on here were already released ngl. I still love those songs but I really wish for a more album like experience. All the songs have an incredible atmosphere, I'm so disappointed we once again only get a peek at what could be.
The new songs are fine but I don't think they can rival the original three. TIMELESS and NO COLD are my favourites among the new songs. ROLL THE DICE feels too much like THE SUN to me and ASHLEY'S HEARTBREAK is not that ... read more
Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory

I had already listened to Yeah Right and BagBak and both have since become some of my favorite rap songs ever, so it would be an understatement to say I was disappointed by this project. The production is amazing throughout this thing, some of the most creative and fun beats ever but I think except a few songs Vince himself is hardly ever as interesting as anything happening around him. His performance feels very uninspired sometimes imo.
There are highlights tho, songs when everything just ... read more
Autechre - Chiastic Slide

I am not sure if I like it more than Tri Repetae. I prefer the sonic direction they chose for this album, the cold, blizzard, machine like atmosphere this creates is so interesting, I hadn't heard anything like it. I just think it loses itself in the second half where the songs get kinda repetitive and uninteresting after a while...
Everything from Cipater to Cichli is a highlight
George Clanton - Slide

Went in expecting a fun goofy album but was completely blown away by it. Everything from the writing to the production just clicked on the first listen itself, its such an emotional listen for me. Man, I sure wish he would make a Slide 2
Highlights: All but Moster (its just fine imo)

"Great review! :) Time n Place is my favorite KKB release and one of my att time favorites too. I think the growth they showed from their last album both sonically and lyrically is so impressive! Im surprised I don't see a lot of reviews mention this, but as you said the ending to Flyway very explicitly alludes to suicide as an escape. Its such an upsetting ending to such an otherwise hopeful song. I have seen some more positive interpretations too but its hard to not take the lyrics literally"
