A riff monster. Repetitive and relentless mid tempo thrash/stench/crust, whatever you call it. Same formula than the first LP, but more metal. It’s all so good. I mean, I always ask for more. Starts really good with Estimated Prophet which sounds like something coming up straight from Dark Side of the Moon. Also ends well with Terrapin part 1, a long song with complex structure and some latin and classical influences. But the stuff in between is not as good. That record doesn't sound like your usual GD record. Not much of that jam or folk feel, more proggy and even a funky version of Dancing in the Street (which does not belong here, I think).
Thick guy hardcore. Basic, raw, simple, powerful. Lyrics about getting your revenge from assholes or something like that.
Folk rock plutôt accessible et plaisant avec un peu de country et de blues (Trucking). Bon disque d’introduction aux Grateful Dead je suppose, mais y a des pièces que j’aime nettement plus que d’autres là-desssus.
