Thom Yorke - ANIMA

Even as a loyal fan of Radiohead, a band that got me into music in the first place, I never thought that Thom Yorke's solo career would live up to Radiohead's legendary status. But "ANIMA" might just be that leap forward. This album's aesthetics are very similar to "Kid A" and "Tomorrow's Modern Boxes". However, I feel like the sound he was aiming for on the latter is perfected here and, with the help of long-time producer Nigel Godrich, it all sounds organic. Thom's songwriting is as great as ever! The crowning example of this has to be "Dawn Chorus", which made me shed quite a few tears and is arguably one of the best pieces he's ever written. There's a feeling of gloom at nearly every turn, yet it also feels cozy because his voice has always been a comfort zone for me. Overall, "ANIMA" is Thom Yorke’s best solo record since "The Eraser"!

Fav Tracks: Dawn Chorus, Not The News, Traffic, I Am a Very Rude Person, Impossible Knots, The Axe, Last I Heard (...He Was Circling the Drain)

Least Fav Track: Twist
