Jaden - ERYS

I wasn't expecting this album to be good, but it was definitely better than I expected... in a couple of ways. "PINK" is a great opener with some outstanding, creative production (especially the toothbrush sample on "K"). The Tyler and Cudi features were also spot-on and they bring in some much needed charisma to this record. Unfortunately, the flaws that are associated with Jaden's music, and Jaden himself, remain. There are so many corny-as-hell lines on here ("'Til they wake up and switch, we ain't playin' Nintendo"), his flows are as uninspired as ever and, while the production is still pretty solid, some of the mixing and vocal effects are horrid. Overall, it seems like the youngest of the Smith family doesn't want to improve, still romancing with the "fact" that he's one of the deepest rappers in the world.

The funniest line from him for me was when he said "I'll never be a XXL freshman. Man they look at me and know that I'm the freshest."
