Courtney Barnett is one of the several singers of this growing wave of modern indie rock artists. She is able to cast raw melodies contrasting with vulnerable and sensitive but humorous lyrics. This style was present in her previous album, but in "Tell Me How You Really Feel", Courtney sounds more personal and intimate, with her describing her insecurites and views in the world alongside a beautiful guitar instrumentation.

Jenny Hval is one the most interesting nowadays art pop artists, she has delivered amazing experimental conceptual album in her road. On her EP "The Long Sleep" Jenny presents a progressive dark jazzy conceptual mini album that has a 10 minute track in the middle of it. "The Long Sleep" is another great artwork from Jenny and it's really beautiful and ethereal.

Favs: Spells and The Long Sleep.

From there I was expecting her debut and in June of this year she released the beautiful "Lost & Found". Her wonderful voice is followed by a gorgeous arrangements that touchs soul, r&b and trip hop, sometimes sounding really 90's influenced. Lyrically the ... read more

Question for my first community sourced AOTY list: What's a great album that you can't listen to anymore, and what's the reason?
