EDITED SCORE 65 > 50
This album has grown off on me in so many ways to the point where I feel comfortable calling it his worst album and his only project I would say is not good. Before I start getting into what I don't like about the album, I want to at least start on a high note. Fitting, seeing as GNX does the same. Wacced Out Murals, Squabble Up and Luther are three very strong points on the album. Wacced Out Murals sets the vibe perfectly, encapsulating the whole "west coast ... read more
This album is weird. On one hand, it has some cuts that I remember hearing when I was a younger, less experienced man that make me feel nostalgic for better times. For as silly as the Modest Mouse interpolation is, The Show Goes On is still a really, really fun song. Always brightens my mood and has gotten me through a lot. Songs like Never Forget You, Out Of My Head and Coming Up are also all pretty great songs that blend Lupe's impeccable rapping with the sound of that era.

This album's weird because it represents a lot of Tyler's standard gimmicks being broken apart and turned on their head. This is a good thing and bad thing, in my opinion.
Speaking positively, this album wasn't dropped in 2025!! That's cool and unique for Tyler! The production, as per usual, blends all these elements of jazz and electronic, almost prog-rockish synths and hip hop and art pop that reminds me a lot of ... read more
One of the best runs in music ever but closes out a little lackluster
It's Steely Dan digging out of its grave after veing buried alive for 21 years. Perverse lyrics delivered in a charismatic yet chaotic way with (usually) clean production that sounds like the hotter days of August. Is it perfect? Not necessarily, the middle of the album's kinda messy and it's far longer than it has any right to be (if it were 40-50 minutes it'd probably go up to a 9 or so) and not every lyric is perfect. For what it is though, it's a pretty good debut ... read more
When I was listening to Godspeed's discography, I seemingly forgot about this EP and listened to it inbetween Yanqui and Allelujah. Oopsie daisies!
Good EP regardless, takes what I love about F# and Skinny Fists and combined them into an amazing listening experience. BBF3 is probably one of their greatest songs ever, at least top 15. Don't make the same mistake I did overlooking this thing.
AS OF OCTOBER 4TH 42,511 DEAD
In preparation for this new album, I listened to every Godspeed album in order... and one question remains.
Was this all worth it?
I mean, seriously, why did I do this for this album when I didn't extend such a feat to Charli or Ka or Armand Hammer or even Lupe or any other artist before this week? Am I just stupid? Well, yes, but I feel like there's more to it. The truth is that I didn't listen to F#A#∞ out of excitement for this album, ... read more
Has its highs for sure but just not what I personally love about Godspeed
In preparation for this new album, I'm listening to every Godspeed album in order. This is the last stop on my journey, and also the first stop in my love for the band as I heard it when it first came out. For what it's worth, it's a great drone rock project. I love Glaciers but the rest of it feels kind of... okay? Not boring like Snooziferian Towers but just kinda alright compared to the rest of their ... read more
But a Godspeed with a Lucierian Tower... what the fuck happened?
In preparation for this new album, I'm listening to every Godspeed album in order. What happened. No, seriously, I just finished listening to this... but what happened? I don't remember anything interesting or memorable outside of a small twidget of Bosses Hang Pt. 3(?) and I'm pretty sure there were some trumpets on the first song. I just can't be bothered to care about anything here. It's fine, but ... read more
Welcome back, old friend.
In preparation for this new album, I'm listening to every Godspeed album in order. This is the only album of theirs I had on vinyl because Peasantry captivated me to no end for YEARS, but a dirty little secret I have is that I only ever listened to Peasantry, never the rest of it and...
Man.
Is Peasantry still great? Of course. Is Piss Crowns a masterpiece that I shamefully slept on. Yup. Am I glad these two songs are their first bits of truly original material ... read more
Am I going crazy?
In preparation for this new album, I'm listening to every Godspeed album in order... and this album makes me feel like I'm in an insane asylum. WHY DOES NOBODY TALK ABOUT THIS??? HELLO??? Mladic and Worried Fire are MASTERPIECES and easily some of the best music they've ever made. These Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian permeate the two real tracks on this thing and make me feel like I'm on the set of a Mad Max movie within only minutes of listening. This ... read more
Underrated yet unrelenting. Their best album.
In preparation for this new album, I'm listening to every Godspeed album in order. This album, like Skinny Fists and F#, has an overarching vibe that it goes for. F#? Apocalyptic. Skinny Wrists? Hopeful. But this? This is unfettered political vitriol like you've never seen before. Without uttering a single word, they double down on intricate instrumentation that is far more layered and whole than their prior albums. You're no longer ... read more
Nobody sleeps on the beach of Coney Island anymore
In preparation for this new album, I'm listening to every Godspeed album in order. This album, compared to F#, was an unimaginably beautiful glowup that sounds and feels like a radically beautiful revolution of the mind. The only, and I mean ONLY flaw is that I'm not huge on the last track compared to the utter fucking masterpieces that are Storm, Static and ESPECIALLY Sleep.
Dark, Apocalyptic, Beautiful
In preparation for this new album, I'm listening to every Godspeed album in order. Godspeed came through swinging with an unimaginably bleak outlook on what the future might look like. With how dreary it is, it also has these strangely hopeful moments like the end of East Hastings and parts of Providence. Really strong debut even if not every song is on par with their future works, they came into the scene DABbing* on their haters.

Solid project and would certainly be a lot of rappers best bit idk HKTS or Descendents of Cain are really high bars I'm not sure this album hits
This is the worst rap album ever made. Of all time, likely for as long as Kanye's team continues to be the only team soulless enough to release a project this ridden in auditory feces.
Let me start with the positive. Notice, positive, there's only one, and it's that some songs are *listenable*. They're not top tier Kanye, they're not even mid tier Kanye, but there are a few tracks on this I listen to about as often as I do Closed On Sunday. I think if you put River on ... read more
