Gojira is probably the most relevant prog metal band there is out there right now. Magma which is probably their mainstream success (according to spotify stats) It spawned many heavy hits like Stranded, Silvera and The Cell, but does this album have real quality compared to the other albums by this phenomenal band?. This album opens with The Shooting Star which is to me one of the most remarkable from the record without a doubt, it has an awesome string arrangement and it has a great heavy ... read more
Gentle Giant is a prog band that should've had the same recognition as other prog bands at the time. Octopus is one of their most well known releases. This album opens up with The Advent Of Panurge, a great opener to introduce this album, I find that Gentle Giant has this perfect contrast as a band between the hard rock parts and the melodic ones, and this song is a very great example of it. There is other tracks that use this example like A Cry For Everyone, which is one of my favorite from ... read more
Bad Bunny has released an album after almost 2 years of releasing a full length LP. He is a very influential and popular latin artist that is within the top 10 most played artists of the world right now. Un Verano Sin Ti is his comeback from a darker and nastier LP that was EL ULTIMO TOUR DEL MUNDO, this album feels way more alive, and lovely, it's certainly not my favorite release by him, but it still has lot of highlights. But the real problem with this album is the amount of tracks it has, I ... read more
This Billie Eilish album was the one that blew her up, her debut album made her an worldwide sensation, because of songs like bad guy, when the party's over, bury a friend, etc. Every track on here is a hit, and it has the right to be, almost every track on here is catchy and grabs you. This album is overrated in my opinion, it has good qualities like the instrumentals by Billie's brother Finneas, and the vocals by Billie which are way better when not saturated or autotuned. The production is ... read more
Tool are probably my top 3 bands of all time, and Lateralus is my favorite release by them. This album has been my companion and my introduction to music, when I didn't have any friends in quarantine the only thing I did was steal this cd from my dad and listen to it while I sleep, I was completely obsessed with the chord progressions and the drums by Danny Carey. The Grudge was the most abstract opener to an album I have ever heard, it was incredible. Then The Patient showed the more melodic ... read more
Today I'm reviewing the second LP by my favorite band of all time "Stone Temple Pilots", this album showed a creative growth over their debut Core which was to many a Pearl Jam imitation with no redeeming qualities (which is absolutely untrue). This record introduced the world to the real stp, spawning hits like Vasoline, Interstate Love Song and Big Empty, all incredible singles that increased the fanbase of this band. This album opens with Meatplow, a country type style of rock ... read more
Charli XCX has to be the most overhyped pop artist of our current century, she does have redeeming qualities I will expand on later, but really she isn't as great as people use to describe her. Her latest release "Crash" that has a horrible album cover, makes her music feel way too repetitive, it opens with the title track that has a weird but addicting hook, so hat's off to that I guess. Then New Shapes which is a song with an 80's retro feeling, that kinda represents in a good way ... read more
This Rage album is probably their most divisive release and also their last full length LP studio effort. This album has a lot of great experimentation on every instrument, but for me the worst side of the record is Zach De La Rocha, he feels uninspired and a weird fit to the album. Tho the album has great moments, it still remains to be the worst release by rage. Peace Out.
This Taylor Swift album was her comeback from her hiatus after the controversy with Kanye over the song "Famous" and the spotlight shaming on her. Tho this album does set the level of authority and security, it still isn't the greatest project on earth. It starts of very solid with the first few tracks that have very interesting rap beats to pop songs, which I found to be one of the redeeming qualities of the album. Then it gets more mediocre with the remaining part of the record, so ... read more
This album is often regarded to be one of The Beatles best, and i agree but i think this album would rupture the band for a long time eventually leading to their breakup. The White Album isn't as psycodelich as Revolver or Magical Mystery Tour, but still stands as a great classic due to songs like While My Guitar, Helter Skelter. But this album is also very bloated, its full of songs that absolutely no one wants to hear unless your in a children's birthday like: Obla Di Obla Da or Wild Honey ... read more
Mr. Bungle is an experimental band from the US led by frontman Mike Patton from Faith No More is one of the most weird yet interesting bands there is. I would say "Disco Volante" is their most theatrical release to date, considering the amount of Italian influences and classic instruments displayed on the albums that serve as a variety to the record. The opener is a great industrial track which has an awesome percussion. The second track "Chemical Marriage" is a slow and ... read more
Tera Melos is one of the best math rock bands of all time, they're not really well known, but if you want to get into math rock, this might be the album your looking for. This album had very high high's but very low low's. The more alive moments are way better than the silent and calm moments.
Charly García which is the Argentinian pop-rock legend that has released many successful albums around the years. This album is his most well known album and it has the right to be. There is a lot of great musical qualities on here, and many of these songs feel as full grown tango songs transformed into rock ballads.
Wallows is an indie-pop band that has had a very solid fanbase during 5 years, their second release is a mixed bag, a pretty generic one yet a pretty creative at the same time. The album opens with a pretty boring track called "Hard To Believe", no offense to any wallows fans. I Don't Want To Talk is a pretty ok song, and the most popular song from here. Especially You is a great track that has an incredible mix in the drums, and the whole vibe of the song is great. At The End Of Day ... read more
Today I wanted to introduce to you this Argentinian prog rock band which I love the most. Luis Alberto Spinetta, the genius himself behind this band, this album is to me the best south american LP of all time, the instrumentation on here is incredible and on point, maybe the production isn't the greatest there is, for example it has some mistakes in the track: Los Libros De La Buena Memoria. This record opens with the legendary track El Anillo Del Capitan Beto, a perfect opener for this ... read more
Dua Lipa is one of the best modern pop artists of our time, and today I'm taking the time to review her second album and the critically acclaimed "Future Nostalgia". The album opens with the title track which is an absolutely great song and album opener. Then we get to the hit "Don't Start Now" which being honest is way too overplayed, still a great track tho. The third song Cool is the first miss on the LP, it just feels like music you would hear while waiting for your mom ... read more
This new full length LP by Harry Styles is way better than I expected it to be, there is an impressive growth in sound from this brittish musician. The production is on point and the instrumental choices as well. It starts strong with Great songs like the opening track: Music For a Sushi Restaurant, and Grapejuice. There is a lot of catchyness in the first five songs and it makes it an instant modern pop classic. As It Was is probably the highlight of the record, and it perfectly shows how ... read more
Jethro Tull are one of the most well known and legendary prog bands of all time, led by the amazing Ian Anderson. Aqualung is regarded as the majority to be their best work, and it's understandable why this statement is so popular. Being honest i'm not the biggest Jethro Tull fan there is, I'll stick with Genesis or King Crimson when it comes to prog rock, but every once in a while a little of Jethro Tull doesn't hurt. I think this album isn't very consistent tbh, there is many interludes or ... read more
The latest release by rapper Vince Staples is a very emotional charged project with meaningful backgrounds and stories. Ramona Broke My Heart is a very good album, tho it may be a mixed bag and has many lows (like Bang That or Lemonade), it's still a great LP. The way this man displays the sentiment through a very dragged and depressed voice is very shocking, this is isn't any rap album, it really tries to grab your heart. For me the lyrics are one of the reasons the rapping on here is ... read more
