Sounds like being at a musical. I would hate going to a musical but assuming this was what the album was going for, they did a good job and I gotta give them points. Very creative and different from most of what Ive heard but would still never listen to again. 30 degree angle thumbs up :)

"On top of that another thing is that they phrase these hard problems many times with the inflection or perspective of a child. Thats not to say children dont have real perspectives and one that is different from an adult that can be interested on its own. But it tends to get whiney and annoying the same way a child might if they dont get a later bedtime or a cookie after dinner. Obviosly tho this is about real world problems which sort of suggests a whiney complaicant way through life which many people (inlcuding myself) find annoying. It leads to their audience either being kids, (like in my case back in the day) or people who wont grow up."

"Yeah sorry for the confusion coming from an AJR hater. Don't worry I made a full conversion from super fan back in 7th grade a long time ago. What a lot of people have problems with is the fact that they combine all the generic, corny, uninspired bits of modern radio pop music, but then as their special "flair" they add in the most terrible production of all time. Another thing they do that is partiularily terrible is the fact that they take real world problems such as anxiety, depression etc. and slap a jolly happy beat on it which leads to a kind of weird expierience where you are musically lead to want to celebrate the lyrics but the lyrics arent of that nature and should be worked through rather than celebrated yknow."
