Over the past few years I've gradually watched JPEGMAFIA grow from one of the most promising artists in experimental hip hop to one of the most exciting artists active today in any genre. VETERAN established him as a musician with boundless creativity and All My Heroes Are Cornballs solidified him as an absolute glitch hop virtuoso. LP! builds off the disjointed, chaotic, and unpredictable structure of All My Heroes, but dives even deeper into dark & heavy tones, challenging abstraction, and mesmerizing sloppiness (you can't even get all these songs on most streaming platforms for pete's sake. that's friggin sloppy.) I do think it gets a little too messy and intangible for it's own good at points, but overall it's a real treat to witness Peggy dump all his cryptic creativity out with no limits.
