Parker's weakest work by far, lacks any energy through a large chunk of it. Genuinely disappointing coming from. While I enjoy seeing Kevin experiment further into electronic music, this record misses the mark outside of a few singles like Dracula and Afterthought. This album is like if Geordie Greep, Isaac Wood BCNR, and Twin Fantasy Car Seat Headrest all got combined in the Jeff Goldblum Fly machine in the most beautiful way.
Genuinely painful to listen to as a full album, so slow and draining, Brad's extremely monotone vocals do not fit these soul samplings, along with that its so slow and monotonous, almost every song sounds exactly the same, and despite being only 41 minutes the album drags so hard. Complete departure from TV Girl's strengths in making hypnotic dream pop with a biting sarcasm to it.
