of course its really good but jesus christ this guy is a hornball
fav is difficult love
one of the most underrated mac miller songs, insane groove, flows, and lines. he has crazy energy on here too that we very rarely hear. stellar
idc if they release the same song over and over until the end of time i will eat it up
i fucking hated listening to this. its just loud, self important, aimless garbage
one of the strangest and most unpleasant beats ive ever heard jesus fucking christ 😭
dont have much to say other than more consistent beats than texas boy, and id argue cleaner production. amazing bass and pretty consistent, definitely frontloaded though
i actually wish there were no features. some of these beats really only fit him, like joey did NOT belong on hatchback. outside of that this album's pretty fun
i swear he didnt used to sound like such a fucking nerd. like idk if its his mixing or his voice just doesnt fit rock rap as well or his writing has gotten worse (which i do think) but ever since ildmlfy he's just lost most of his appeal to me. listen to anything off offline and it'll sound more natural i swear
im glad i gave this a few days to grow on me. even if there are a couple boring songs, he has a crazy amount of energy here and its definitely his best album. lots of crazy highlights. citgo is his best trap song, i love the dreamy production of junkyard freestyle, come true is super underrated, and street car is one of if not his best pure rock songs. jid and dominic fike both kill their features. im gonna be revisiting this for a long time
edit 80 -> 90
middle stretch of this album has some of his best songs, like aint givin up, gtky and cameras. i adore the warmer production. some of his best rapping performances, a lot more emotion and energy. even if i didnt mind thib's vibe, this is incredibly refreshing. outstanding
how did i not looooove this on my first listen?? i never thought this would beat dawn fm but i finally relistened the other day and was floating for an hour and a half, ive been obsessed ever since. only critique is i would cut big sleep and drive just to cut the fat. not bad songs, but not additive enough to keep
even sao paulo grew on me, and the 3 interlude tracks (im counting opening night) are fun and do a lot to glue everything together. just magical production and vocals throughout
the production is obviously insane and i love both lazer dim and denzel's verses but the later part of denzel's kinda bothers me cause it sounds like he's going faster than the beat, not in a good way...? idk i havent heard anyone else mention this so maybe im crazy but it bothers me. overall though, catchy
biggest grower album for me so far. thought it was kinda lame at first with some high highs and low lows but nothing felt familiar, not in a good way. also probably didnt help that i was delirious as shit. but now i love this album and it feels very innovative for his sound. its like a fully realized Testing. i personally prefer his older cloud rap shit over everything but that doesnt take away from how fun this album is and how much replay value im going to get out of it
piece of heaven is unassuming just cause its surrounded by so much mediocrity, but its super underrated and i hope people eventually realize its a tame impala classic. other than that the only other good song on here is dracula. there are a few nice moments here and there, like the end of end of summer is gorgeous. but then there's "i watch family guy" and songs that draaagggg on and on with nowhere to go. overall the album was not at all worth the wait, although i cant say im ... read more
music that gives me hope about the state of the world. listening to this after deadbeat saved my evening
how did he choose highroller and ready to love over abk or tell me?? i dont dislike any song on here but the singles wouldve made this album a lot more memorable 🫤 still happy with what we got, this album has amazing songs like bk's finest and especially underwater, im a huge sucker for bossa nova rap. also i dont get the hate with 3 feet away, his singing sounds great and the production sounds great, and it's definitely a departure from his usual style but i think it pays off
the best of tv girl and worst of george clanton (outside of that nick hexum album) meet right in the middle at a 7, with some obvious standouts like summer 2000s baby and everything blue and some other songs that don't live up to the potential. because there IS potential, i dont like tv girl's vocalist or writing but most of the time their instrumentals are amazing
