This is definitely Weezer's most "summer" themed album yet, evident from the beach sounds at the beginning of the album, the album cover, and all the song titles. That theme is represented really well as this album is also one of their most fun in quite a while. But anyway, this album's instrumentation is solid through and through with a load of great guitar riffs and a more pop oriented sound that works surprisingly well especially considering their other... pop oriented songs. It's just all pulled off really well. The melodies and hooks are infectious as hell and the hooks especially are some of their best in quite a while, and the songwriting is some of their best in quite a long time too. It feels like a return to their roots as this album retains the nerdy style Weezer were originally known for, and that really makes this stand out from a lot of their recent material; the fact that they know what they're best at and really stuck to it throughout the album. But overall, this is one of Weezer's best releases in years, and proves they still have it in them to make a great album if EWBAITE didn't convince you. This might signal a true comeback for the band! Hyped for Pacific Daydream! Wait... what's that user score?
