The production here sounds great, and Mereba's performance is really good, I just wish there was something more to this song, will definitely check out the album when it comes out though.
A really incredible and powerful opener, that sets up the themes and sounds of the album perfectly. The sound palette for the entire album is incredibly unique, the idea of rapping of power electronic production is a really interesting one. I think this creative decision really heightens the intensity of this album, the writing on this album is brutal, and the production, especially when paired with Moor Mother's unique delivery, really elevates this to a new level. Not every part aspect ... read more
I really love Denzel Curry's live version of "MMESYF", so it's great to hear another rendition of that great album from him. The first track, even though it's so short, in addition to the "Didn't Cha Know" cover, surprised me by showing how much singing talent Curry has, it'll be interesting to hear him implement that further on a future project. Of course, the live instrumentation sounds incredible, it leads to my favourite versions of the tracks ... read more
Another incredibly beautiful album from Billie Holiday. I feel like, compared to the other album I've heard from her: "Lady Sings the Blues" this album showcases are larger range of emotion. Not that this is an inherent good or bad thing, it's just refreshing hearing her singing within a different context. This is essentially what you would expect and want from a Billie Holiday album: incredible and powerful singing, over some great sounding instrumentation.
A pretty fun and catchy electropop album. It does well in showing Kilo Kish's versatile skills within this genre of music. The production sounds absolutely incredible, and also has enough variety from track to track that the album rarely gets boring. Really excited to see where she takes her sound from here. There was some throughlines in the album, such the digitial/arcade-y sounds that can be heard at points, and work well with the album intro and outro, it's a small touch, but adds ... read more
I'm not even sure what you do to the music to make it sound like this, but I like it.
Thank you to @Aiysheff2 for the suggestion!
I had no idea what to expect going into this album, I have zero experience with Turkish pop, so I was curious to see what this sounded like. I'm incredibly happy to say that this was an extremely powerful and beautiful album. Aksu's singing is so full of emotion, and really makes each and every song on here soar. The writing (which I'm using Google Translate to help me understand, so take it with a grain of salt), is also really ... read more
Sounds really good for a debut album, they've already made distinct sound for themselves. Not really much to say other than it's an impressive debut, with obvious room to grow.
What an insane listen, this sounds like an wild combination between "Endtroducing" and "Everywhere at The End of Time", but with the intensity of something like "Einstürzende Neubauten". It's so noisy, but there still seems to be a single, cohesive vision with each track. Some parts here sound like I'm falling in and out of consciousness, or flicking through tv channels. I don't even want to know how you even begin to make something this insane ... read more
A really weird listen, the singer's very thick French accent, mixed with the lo-fi style of production make for an album that almost sounds like a normal album from the early 80s, but something is just off about it. This isn't a negative thing either, I think the relatively unique sound this album has makes for a really interesting, entertaining, and, at times, a really beautiful listen.
Really interesting and creative album, the production and the vocals are really varied, but also feel pretty subdued, which creates this really unique atmosphere. The writing here is also really imaginative.
Really well made, if a little short. The production is great, and the way sampling is used to elevate the rapping is really clever. The rapping is decently varied too, and the features do a pretty good job. While it's only 18 minutes, it's 18 minutes that are spent well.
Everyone has so much great chemistry with each other, it's crazy, so much fun to listen to
Not that crazy about this album, the rapping felt too awkward at times, and the features didn't really add anything. I though the production was great however, definitely the highlight of the album.

Yeah this thing is amazing, no idea why it didn't click with me the first time, still wish some of the features from rav were a little better, but they're all pretty minor in relation to the album.
Pat's Soundhouse continue their experimental, almost hypnotic instrumentation on their Volume II of their "Khaen Solo" series. It's safe to say that I still have yet to hear anything that quite sounds like the music what's on this series. I think Volume I is a slightly better album, simply down to it sounding more memorable, but this is still further proof of the talent that Pat's Soundhouse has when it comes to simple instrumentation.
Thanks to @Bryan23 for the recommendation!
The production on this album is insane, and from beginning to end, the energy never lets up, it's so full of ideas all the time. I can't understand a word that's being said, but the performance has so much personality and emotion behind it that it almost doesn't really matter, the variety in the performance to match the variety in production works really well. Incredibly creative and fresh sounding album, I'm surprised more ... read more
Really beautiful little project from Bon Iver, I'm still not sure on the purpose on the opening track is, it just seems completely out of place compared to how the actual songs sound. Other than that, this EP sounds very friendly and warm, it's hard to explain, but this guy sounds trustworthy in a way. The super stripped back style of production on this EP, especially on the last track, just adds to this atmosphere. If I had a complaint it would be that, given that this is an EP, ... read more
Crazy production, as you would expect from Machine Girl, and I can respect them for branching out and trying new things, it keeps the music interesting. However, the production on here failed to catch my ear like some of their previous production has done.
