Michael Jackson - Off the Wall
84

Hear me out, the album is good, has nice songs. But God is it also overrated
The songs were varying degrees of great (except "She is out of my Life" which bore me to death, i hate ballads) but apart from that there was nothing in this album that made me think "this is one of the best albums out there"

The album went kinda downhill towards the latter half as well

Playboi Carti - Playboi Carti
82

First carti album, FWAEH

This was such a nice listen!!
Very trippy production heavily inspired by cloud rap. Carti also delivered some great catchy rapping, and all the songs were at the very least good, no duds

This also has my fav carti song, "NEW CHOPPA" with that fire A$AP feature. Main reason why it's not higher is the lack of big highs.

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

With all the fuzz this album had around i got highly intrigued about it

Today i decided it to check it out BUT, with a catch. I couldn't check out any song beforehand in order to get used to the sound

At first i was kinda taken aback by her vocals but the production kept me hooked so i kept listening. Track after track the album was sounding better and better to me, with some great bangers in the 2nd half of the tracklist

Overall i liked the expirience and i feel like it's only ... read more

Young Thug - Slime Season
84

With the arrival of Slime Season to streaming services i was hyped to finally be able to check out this young thug mixtape!!

I expected it to be good but i was MIND BLOWN by how solid this was!!! This project had banger after banger, it was nonstop amazing. I expected the album to be boring when i saw the big ass tracklist and the length of some songs in this project but i was surprised to never feel bored while listening!!!

It really is a very good continuation to barter 6, and it has ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
81

It wasn't a bad album, but being completely honest this is in the bottom of Kendrick's discography for me

I'm not the biggest fan of the West Coast sound, and the production in some of these was kinda boring.
Let's not forget however the horrendous song that was GNX that i don't even understand how Kendrick thought it was a good idea to add it LMFAO

Apart from that it had very great bangers, including the 2 SZA songs, Reincarnated, Dodger Blue and Heart pt 6

JPEGMAFIA - LP! (Offline Version)
87

My second PEGGY album!!!

Banger packed front to back, the songs are experimental but still very fan and super enjoyable!!
That's how you make alternative hip-hop!!!

The problem was that a big bunch of songs were so short that they didn't allow themselves to be completely developed and fullfill their full potential.

Future - DS2
83

A project that i had been wanting to check out for a long time

DS2 by Future is the project that defined the Future we all know and love. It created the Style that sadly Future has been replicating since then for over 9 years 😅.

Apart from that, this project isn't short from being one of the most important and influential projects of the trap subgenre. The moody, half-mellodic and hard-hitting style of Future was perfected in here. Resulting in an album with non-stop bangers, however ... read more

Sade - Love Deluxe

DAAAAAAAAMN is this album crazy

Final project of Sade's trilogy and i must say...the album had VERY high expectations and...it delivered.

The highs are probably the highest in all of the Sade albums i have listened. No Ordinary Love and Kiss of Life are absolutely goated and crazy good in every way

There were some songs that while great they aren't my type of music so it stopped this album from being higher rated for me

Black Star - Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star
91

Having absolutely LOVED black on both sides i inmediately jumped into this other project. And DAMN...it did not dissapoint in the slightest.

Mos Def and Talib Kweli are a match made in heaven, join this with the top tier production and you get this amazing album. Songs like Respiration are some of the best in Hip-Hop imo.

Of course it isn't on the level of Black on both sides. Mainly because of some songs i was kinda mixed on from the tracklist

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
87

Another Kendrick review, cause it's been a while

DAMN is Kendrick's most streamed album and for a key reason, it could be said that this album is a more "poppy" project inside Kendrick's discography

However it doesn't stop it from being VERY good. While it is true that it has some pretty good songs like Element, and others that are almost bad tbh...like Yah or GOD the album is full of bangers and even some incredibly top tier songs and some of the best in ... read more

Young Thug - Best Friend

He ate the goat to become one

Erykah Badu - Didn’t Cha Know

Top 5 songs of all time

Fugees - The Score
86

Def far from the masterpiece that is Miseducation, but still a very good and unique listen

Wyclef, Pras and Lauryn Hill deliver an original and unique album that blends Hip-Hop, Soul and Reggae making a tropical-sounding album (at least in my opinion it gives me summer/beach vibes)

The trio in general do a great job but Lauryn Hill performances are always stellar and wipes down the other 2. Here she shows her full capabilities as an MC.

The songs were good to great. But there weren't ... read more

Mos Def - Black on Both Sides

This album was CRAAAAZY

Mos Def's ear for soulfull and great production is stellar, it complements perfectly with his great rapping hability as well as his imo cool singing that he does from time to time. All songs were bangers in one way or another, the highs were just on another level, such as Ms Fat Booty, Hip Hop, Know That or the ahead of its time Brooklyn.

Mos Def really paved the way for soul-rap with this project which has become one of my favs.

The features were all placed ... read more

A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
90

An album i have been wanting to check out for a LOOOOOOOONG time

The Low End Theory is a great jazz rap album that manages to mix fun-listening with great lyrics and banging beats.
All songs were great, those bass-heavy beats always slap and the group's fun flows are great for hyping you up, specially Q-tip.
One of the most solid albums i have listened to with a consistent great quality the entire tracklist.

My only problems would be the lack of highs that i would consider amazing songs, ... read more

Sade - Promise
89

Another crazy chill album with top tier production and singing
It completely met the expectations that the previous one had set, which is difficult considering how top tier it was.

All songs were in the great or better tier
It wasn't better than Diamond life though, and it didn't have any song i would consider perfect, but apart from that very top tier.

Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours
68

This is why you kinda have to inform yourself better about what you are listening before checking it out 😭

I came to this album cause since young i have always liked Frank Sinatra's hits, the christmas ones, Fly me to the Moon, My Way...
I saw that this album was Frank Sinatra's best rated and that it was short so i thought...well. WHY NOT

And then i stumbled upon this mellow, more sad-themed album instead of the more lively music i was expecting, LOL.
Not bad songs by any means, ... read more

Sade - Diamond Life
90

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAN this album is so peak, GOD DAMN

From the production to the vocals...i wasn't expecting to love this album so much. It's for the record the only album whose entire tracklist has been added to my playlist.

Sade really has a beautiful voice which mixes perfectly with this jazzy production, perfect for night drives. It's kinda ahead of its time, and it's one of the few 80s artists which i have managed to enjoy

I can't wait to check out more Sade

Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
94

After months and months of pushing it back i finally decided to give this album a listen to see if it deserves the fuzz.
I had listened to many of the tracks before since i always do that before doing a full listen of an album and while the songs were good i wasn't crazy over them.

However when i listened to this album i was blown away, the tracklist flows sooo well. All the songs were top tier and those which weren't were at the very least on the great tier.

And i must say the ... read more

JID - DiCaprio 2
82

Far from the level of quality of "The forever story" however don't be fooled. This is still an incredibly solid project, specially the first half which is non-stop bangers.

While it is true that the songs were less elaborated and more Generic than the ones in Forever Story the album shows JID effortlessly flowing over the beats, even when some beats were kinda mid (prob the part where i think the project lacked the most) JID still managed to carry the songs thanks to his top ... read more
