OutKast - ATLiens
87

First Outkast album review!!
I really loved the production in this album, perfect for nightime. Overall the songs were great, but there wasn't any song which i would consider a 10/10.
One issue i had with this project is that the duo's flows in some songs were kinda extravagant and sometimes offputting, but apart from that it's classic tier and i can't wait to hop into Aquemini and Stankonia

Sampha - Lahai
79

Not a bad album by any means, with some songs which i did really like.

However i wasn't crazy on it, i think it was due to the type of music, it just doesn't click with me the whole sound of it. A lot of the songs on this record i just "didn't care" about them

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
83

Definately a great listen, BUT it's far from being the best album of the year as the ratings say.

While the highs were pretty impressive such as "Really doe" there were some songs where i didn't feel anything special and others which just sounded bad to me.
I still found it to be really unique and creative

Either way it's a great and fun alternative hip-hop record, but too overrated (honestly this site seems like they glaze anything that's different)

Erykah Badu - Mama's Gun
93

Another incredible album from the talented Erykah Badu.

While i do belive that the highs in this album are higher than the highs in Baduizm (Didn't Cha Know and Green Eyes) i belive that as a whole this album is less concise and therefore not on the level of Baduizm.

For instance, i wasn't a fan at all of the intro, and other songs while good seemed kinda messy and didn't reach the perfection that her other album has.

But man...the highs.....Didn't Cha Know is a top 10 ... read more

SZA - Ctrl
89

Really great album from SZA.
The first half was INCREDIBLY solid, all songs were top tier and peaking in what i think is the best song of the album "Prom"

The 2nd half although still solid fell down a little bit for me and wasn't on the level of the beginning, but was nonetheless a great listen.

Chance the Rapper - Coloring Book
81

Really good listen.
While at first Chance The Rapper's voice came across as annoying it later on grew on me a lot more.
The mixtape started off VERY strong but i wasn't the biggest fan of a lot of the songs on the second half
Either way this is probably one of the top 5 best mixtapes of the 2010s, reminds a lot of The College Dropout

Pusha T - It's Almost Dry
85

Another amazing album from 2022

Though not as good as Daytona Pusha T, Kanye and Pharrell deliver a very well polished product on this album.

The first half was amazing and could have been better than Daytona if it had continued this way, but the second half kinda fell off.

Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered.
86

This guy is fucking crazy, even his throwaways are incredibly top tier.

Untilted 05 and Untilted08 were fucking amazing and part of my top 20 Kendrick songs.

Denzel Curry - Melt My Eyez See Your Future
88

Such a freaking good listen
From the instrumentals to Denzel's rapping and the features this album was a great listen back to back. Although there weren't any 10/10 songs i feel like not a single song went under the 8/10 rating. This not mentioning the absolutely great lyrics.

One of the best projects of the decade

Erykah Badu - Baduizm
94

This album deserves to be on the 90+ range in terms of user rating.
This project is freaking amazing. One of the best-sounding albums i have ever heard, the production and Erykah's vocals mash together perfectly making this one of my favourite listens ever.
It's perfect to just put on the background on a rainny night while you study.
The first 6 song run (without including sometimes (mix 9) obv) is one of the best song runs ever in any album

Travis Scott - Days Before Rodeo
80

Pretty good listen.
You can tell how Trav was still polishing his sound
Starts off very strong but later on kind of becomes worse but still solid with no bad songs.

Not sure if i'm the only one, but this album gives me halloween vibes because of the production

86

Fucking goat of trap (along with young thug)
This album was endless fun bangers with not a single low. All songs were top tier, specially the obvious ones, Throwaway and Codeine Crazy which is prob the best trap song ever.
Only complain would be that it's a little bit one-note for me.

Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster
87

First non-hiphop review.
And damn, this album is sooo good. I really love the production. It's so hard-hitting and innovative, not to mention the amazing vocal performances by Gaga. Bad Rommance, Monster, So Happy i could die...all 10/10 bangers
Only ones i didn't care about were Speechless (not a bad song but it just didn't hit very hard and seemed out of place, and Teeth which was kinda average tbh.
Apart from that this is one of the best pop albums of the 20th century

GZA - Liquid Swords
90

Such a great boom-bap album.
Banging beats with great lyrics from GZA. 4th Chamber has become one of my favourite songs of all time.

80

I don't know what possesed me into listening this. But i must say it was a great listen. Very whimsical
It deserves a higher rating

JID - The Forever Story
93

This album is just banger after banger front to back
Apart from maybe Money all songs are incredibly fun and enjoyable to listen to. JID's flows in this project are fucking sick, so fun to listen to, almost innevitable to bop your head to some fo this songs.

Def one of the best albums of the decaade

Madvillain - Madvillainy
78

The production is amazing yeah, and the whole rapping and rhyming part is impressive.

But apart from that i found this to be a kinda boring listen for a main reason. MF Doom's voice is pretty monotone, his voice lacks energy.

There were some nice songs in here that i added to my playlist, but nothing life-changing. There wasn't any song here that i found to be an amazing piece of art.

OVERALL: Good but VERY overrated, doesn't deserve to be the 2nd best rated rap album

Drake - If You're Reading This It's Too Late
84

You all have an anti-drake bias and it shows, this album is AMAZING and deserves a Must-listen

Banger after banger, only complain would be that some of the first songs were pretty generic and average trap songs, not bad but just they weren't interesting to me.

Young Thug - JEFFERY
85

One of the most unique hiphop artists out there. It took me a while to apreciate Young Thug's uniqueness but now that i do i have fell in love with his music.

This project in particular is non-ending fun with some absolutely fire cuts like "Pick Up the Phone" but at the same time extremely unique and original songs like "Wycleaf Jean" and "Harambe". Only complains would be not having a lot of highs and harambe which despite being incredibly unique and crazy ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - Overly Dedicated
80

And here we begin the Kendrick discography dive.
Overly dedicated is a great first installment. I really loved the production in here, Kendrick was probably the one lacking in this one through the listen. I wasn't a fan of some of his rapping in here

Fav songs: Opposites attract, Barbed Wire and She Needs me Remix.
