PERFORMATIVE WEEK DAY 2
I'm doing a challenge with my friend I'm calling performative week, where we listen to one album per week that is either labelled as "performative" or from an artist that is referred to as such. Additionally, we have to post one song on our Instagram note per day so the world knows that WE are performative.
This is the album that I was expecting the most out of coming into this week (and this challenge may have been devised to get an excuse to ... read more

For the first day, you know I had to start it with a performative CLASSIC. My friend who I'm doing this with is a massive Laufey fan and ... read more
PERFORMATIVE WEEK DAY 0
Starting Sunday, I'm doing a challenge with my friend I'm calling performative week, where we listen to one album per week that is either labelled as "performative" or from an artist that is referred to as such. Additionally, we have to post one song on our Instagram note per day so the world knows that WE are performative.
This Is How Tomorrow Moves is one of the albums on the list, but I had to revisit this song before listening to the album for ... read more
man im gonna slime the dude that gave this a fucking 35 my mom would put this on when I was a kid and I would just dance to it cuz the production is dreamy asf and the vocals are clean the singing is on pitch the lyrics are pointed there is literally nothing to hate abt this song
ion speak spanish and im not tapped into hispanic culture nor latin american music but the set design was cool
im very disappointed monaco and dtmf are both interludes cuz i like those songs and i wasn't a fan of the syncopated die with a smile cuz it sounded like gaga was losing the beat
im sure this is much more impactful to someone who is from latin america but it's ok
You ever hear one of those albums that you're legitimately confused and pissed at yourself for not listening to sooner? Yeah this album is that. It's been sitting in my Spotify library for damn near a year begging me to listen but I've been getting distracted everytime I want to sit down and listen to it. But anyway, this album has no skips. Love the production, love the features, but what Injury Reserve does best is weave stories through masterful lyrical focus. Something like ... read more
Not as experimental as people are making it out to be besides STFU, just moreso that mainstream hip hop fans are so used to hearing Travis Scott and Drake that when they hear a rage beat next to an RnB song they get thrown off
I got halfway through this album and I was like "this is really cool and all but I feel like there's nothing like insanely standout in instrumentation" and then it hit me that this was made in 1973 and everything instantly clicked
Easy listening. Honestly really underrated in production and feature performance, even if some of the Mob members take a backseat. I mean they had Joey Bada$$ (and adjacent Pro Era), Flatbush Zombies, Rocky, Ferg, and Carti all on the same track trading verses joking about unwanted pregnancy. Also that Yachty verse was fucking sick
One of the greatest modern beats imo like I think Don Toliver could've talked about how he came to goon all song and it would still be perfect
I've been wanting to give this a listen for a while, if not just for the unique cover and the possibility of Die Lit-era production on this. Plus, I always enjoyed Pi'erre's vocal features on Die Lit as well. There are more than certainly some good tracks here, but man, I understand why Pi'erre never caught on as a solo act. His autocrooning on this is just mindless drone. Hell, my favorite track off this, Juice, is the only song where he puts down the audio adjustments and ... read more
the real is back the ville is back
i wasn't hyped for this album in the slightest until i heard this track cuz quite honestly port antonio was mid and while cLouds was decent it wasn't the cole i was wanting to see on the Fall Off
but man i can't wait for february 6th what a great early birthday present
i did say that after i finished all brockhampton i'd listen to this (why does it have cloud rap as a subgenre when the only track even close to cloud rap is the outro)
he has like ken carson voice and lyrics but occasionally lil baby flow. i think once he gets better producers he'll probably be better but rn very formulaic
