Okay, now this is the best Muse album, right? I mean I have to re-listen to Origin Of Symmetry and that album after, but I'm pretty sure this is my favorite, I will update the review if those grow on me.
Muse has always came off to me like they were just ripping off Radiohead, except in an Alt Rock style, and while that sounded great on paper, the results weren't so flattering, but I will have to relisten since I did love songs like Citizen Erased or Plug In Baby.
Okay so this album intrigued me because of the cover, which looks really spacey, I'd say it's my favorite cover from them, it is also their most popular album, and for a good reason. This album has quite a few slappers, good production, nice synth, and guitar work, smooth vocals, also nice lyrics. Nothing about this is bad, it's very solid.
Not every song is mindblowing, but either way, I enjoyed it. No songs that I thought were bad or mediocre, there were songs I felt were just filler, but they were still at least pretty decent. Maybe I wish there were more standouts like Starlight, but as a cohesive album listen, it's really good and consistent, despite not having too many mindblowing singular tracks on it. It was a vibey listen that flew by pretty fast, no complaints, it's enjoyable! Peak Muse.
