REVIEW REPOST #003. I repost my old reviews, which got no attention, with updated thoughts. Posted this review on June 2022 but I'm posting it again.
In Rainbows is easily one of my favorite albums ever created. Hell, it's number 3 in my profile of favorite albums. And I also think it's Radiohead's best album, despite Ok Computer also being perfect. That only shows how incredible this band is. They release the most innovative groundbreaking Art Rock album ever that's 10/10 perfect, and then they somehow top it later on? How is that even possible?
So what do I love about In Rainbows? The sound. This is probably the greatest-sounding album ever texturally. It sounds like an orgasm, just slowly penetrating my ears with lush layers of pure beauty. It's so incredibly constructed and well done, it's insane. Honestly absolutely mindblowing.
I won't make this review too long, because everybody knows why In Rainbows is so amazing. All I Need and Videotape are easily some of my favorite songs ever. All I Need is this beautiful, melancholic tune that builds up with incredible sub-bass and percussion to this piano-infused climax that makes my ears literally nut. Videotape is a tragic closer, with some of the saddest piano playing I've ever heard, it's gotta be my favorite Radiohead song. Exactly my cup of tea. Every other song on this album is perfect though, those would just be my favorite two.
It might not be as groundbreaking as Ok Computer or Kid A, but it just sounds so mindbogglingly good, I can't help but put it as my favorite album from them and my 3rd favorite album of all time.
