Woah, I can't believe it, but this album actually landed for me! I mean, as someone who isn't a fan of Fall Out Boy, I somehow really enjoyed the whiniest out of their first three albums, to the point where I would actually call it my favorite out of those!
Look, I know that this isn't amazing, my note reflects that totally, but, I did like the project, especially in the first half. The first 5 songs were genuinely great, especially "Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy" and "Saturday". The two of them are really memorable and enjoyable. I really liked the vocals too, and it's surprising since this album is where Patrick's delivery is at its whiniest, but they blend perfectly with the sound and that teen angst that I think no longer really appears on their future releases, and the same goes to Pete's screaming in certain songs, as someone who isn't the biggest fan of random screaming in music, I actually like how they sound and to some extent, I do wish they would go on to make more appearances in the future. The second half though... yeah, it's really repetitive and I have to admit that they're almost impossible to differentiate from one another.
But, apart from that, yeah, that's pretty much it, I liked it, it's decent, the first half is totally better than the second half and the record doesn't have anything super special to it, but for what it is, I absolutely take it over anything 2010s Fall Out Boy would go on to do.
