Swans - Birthing
58

(written on release date, re-posted)

After a long and exhausting decade and a half of following the same formula, Swans has finally made the decision to abandon it and move to smaller sounding album. This is a great thing, because this album details everything wrong with that formula.

Don't get me wrong, I do think that this is a good album and a solid effort from Swans. The last track, "(Rope) Away," particularly blew me away with its incredible atmosphere and peaceful ending ... read more

Sematary - KING OF THE GRAVEYARD

After Sematary's failure to drop "Butcher House" in 2022, he did what I can only assume is compensation for taking too long by releasing 2 projects in 2023: "Butcher House" and this EP, "King of the Graveyard." Butcher House's massive success set a high precedent for the EP set to come out in Autumn that same year. The massive hype died down a little, however, as soon as the first single dropped. This single, being the title track of the EP, felt more or ... read more

Sematary - BUTCHER HOUSE

After a shockingly silent 2022, Sematary comes back full swing at the beginning of 2023 with his 7th mixtape, "Butcher House." Pink Floyd - The Wall

"The Wall" is Pink Floyd's attempt to create a concept album. More specifically, it's Roger Waters' attempt and the rest of everyone is just doing instrumentals. The reason I say that is because the story is heavily inspired by Roger Waters' real life experiences of his father dying in the war and his abusive school teachers. Of course, the album goes further than that by having the main character, Pink, get cheated on by his wife and having him imagine himself as ... read more

Quadeca - GODSTAINED
NR

(written a few days after release but re-posted now so just know it was made then)

After a quick detour from Quadeca's main releases, that being "Scrapyard," he's finally began his rollout for his new album, titled "Vanisher, Horizon Scraper." While I wish he would hurry up and release the record already, the glimpses into the album's world that we've gotten in "GODSTAINED" is nothing short of incredible. It has these elements to it that are ... read more
