Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy this album. I love how it blends the sound of 80s industrial rock with Depeche Mode style synth pop. However, that is despite how dated it sounds and how whiny and one note the lyrics to almost every song are. Certainly seminal in the history of industrial music but doesn't live up to both the hype and the rest of NIN's discography.
