heartbreakingly beautiful. took me a few listens to really hear what was happening
beautiful as always, but still waiting for her to break out of her groove in her records. she's got more in there.
"a made a new hyperpop album today"
"hyperpop or midwest emo?"
"midwest emo"
Look. Just put on Mercy and bathe in the nonsensical.
A completely unheard of album that is a masterpiece through and through. It's like if 100 gecs was making noise meditation but it's 2002 and gecs aren't even in middle school yet. it's like what animal collective could have become if their shows never sold out.
I have been dancing to this album for the last 13 years and I don't see myself stopping now.
At first I wanted to throw their voice off a cliff. And then I listened again. Then again. I'm not sure what Joanna has going on... their scrappy style and sheer vulnerability. All I know is that it gets stuck in my head and I keep coming back.
masterpiece. I pray every morning and every night that Frank finds a way to make music again. And if he doesn't: his legacy through just blonde alone will define him as one of the number one musicians of our generation.
I need to come back to this review. Give it 10 more listens. Might bump it up to 100. I'm in love.
God I love Gia. I was devastated when Mia Gargaret was released, to learn that one of my favorite singers barely opened her mouth on her new album. I swiftly came to love what she had to say with more than just her words. Romantic Piano takes that vibe and walks it somewhere new and settling. It's not relaxing so much as it is a lullaby. It's not a lullaby so much as it is spell. This will surely be one of my top albums of the year.
