Day 8
very lush atmosphere that is developed by varying guitars. usually very tranquil, but songs like title track and "i am stars" really helped to elevate my enjoyment of the album for me for their spike in energy. feels like some combination between Anna Von Hausswolff and Adrianne Lenker. i also think i officially have a new favorite album cover (sorry samlrc i still love you)

Day 7
i am glad this is my formal introduction to jazz. very relaxing, and in some of my favorite songs it almost feels like the trumpet is speaking. it's never overbearing on the listener, making it a very chill and accessible album. i enjoy how the songs swing back and forth from varying intensities; it helped to make this old album more engaging for me.

Day 6
today's album is very fitting since i graduated from high school earlier today. this final entry of the graduation trilogy seems to put the most emphasis on sampling, specifically in a way that reminds me of J Dilla's "Donuts". i wonder (pun intended) if mr. West took inspiration from that album for this particular project. conceptually, i feel like this is the weakest of the three, and it honestly has less standouts for ... read more

Day 5
second day of speedrunning the graduation trilogy before i graduate. although this installation lessened on the chipmunk soul of The College Dropout, it more than makes up for it through its grand orchestral and jazz elements. on average, the beats are somewhat more solid than in Kanye's debut. i would also probably argue that the flow of this album is even more refined, strengthening the subtle yet invigorating concept. it is honestly ... read more

Day 4
for the next 2-3 days (including today) i will be trying to get through Kanye's old iconic graduation trilogy, since i will be graduating this saturday. his debut album explores a very intriguing concept, and it overall flows very well with its abundance of songs and skits. My main gripe with this album is with some of the individual songs not being very strong (mostly in their beats). HOWEVER, among the mid there are absolute GEMS, most ... read more

Day 3
very pleasing drone from one of my favorite musicians. hurts my ears like god intended. has some absolutely amazing parts (mostly in title track?) which take me back to when i first got into sprain. despite the super harsh parts this album is more peaceful than what i would have expected from him, and would make great studying music (as long as i constantly watch my volume)

Day 2
wanted to listen to this while plastic death was still fresh in my mind. J allows herself to become an experimental diva for this album, and for the most part this helps to create a powerful and tragic narrative within each song. although i personally believe her work was more cohesive & overall stronger when performing under glass beach, i look forward to the next project released under this new alias. my biggest standout is probably ... read more

Day 1
my new favorite project from the recently-disbanded glass beach. with hard-hitting lines and heavy progressions, i, in contrast, float like a feather and ascend like whatever creature is in the album cover. glass beach weaves metaphors into their lyrics in a way that engaged me, complimented by their riffs developing to be better than ever. my standouts include the stellar opener "coelacinth", "rare animal", and above all, ... read more
by the time you hear the next pop, the FUNK shall be within you...
mysterious and cold but at the same time calm and soothing, a very interesting listening experience
i think im growing obsessed with (5th wave) emo once again. this album has clearly been significantly influenced by wetdream (one of my favorite albums ever mind you), but travis orion transforms this style of music in such a fresh and appealing way, and through this they act out their feelings so well. will probably be my AOTY for a long time
"the new slayyyter album sounds a lot like brat, idk if you'd be interested in it" ive only heard this song and like it more than anything i heard from charli xcx
for a car seat headrest solo project this is criminally underrated, please tap into this shit
one of the most engaging albums i have listened to. please make this shit into a movie
