Phoebe Bridgers - Stranger in the Alps
78

“Stranger in the Alps" is an amazing album lyrically and vocally but lacks instrumental values that I think would have elevated the overall experience for me. Songs like “scott street” is one of the moments where instrumentally this album peaked for me. The ending of that song is just amazing. Besides that i enjoyed this and there are some songs that i will be replaying in the future…

Tiffany Day - HALO
84

I was not expecting to actually like this as much as I did. It’s really vibey and dancy, but I think it lacked variety. Do I think that I really like the electronic landscape that was created, yes.. But do I think that there could have been more to experimentation definitely. But besides that this album feels fresh and exciting. It blends pop and electronic genres very well. It keeps me excited on what Tiffany Day does in the future because this is very promising.

Slint - Spiderland
84

I really enjoyed this wow. I was surprised because before I listened to it I saw a very critical album review of this one and it kinda set me up for no good. But I really liked it. It has this specific vibe, feel and mood to it. Instrumentally it’s stunning and emotional. I heard some people complaining about the vocals and tbh i had no problems whatsoever, I still get where they're coming from to a point. For example on some songs i did point it out but it won’t and it ... read more

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Volume II
95

One of the most interesting sounding ambient albums that I have ever heard. It feels never ending and timeless. All of the songs add something to this album in a way that makes it creative and genius. Other than that not really much to be said since this is an ambient album its sole purpose is to be long, repetitive and out of this world.

Nick Villa - VISION IS EXPENSIVE
70

I mean there are some interesting ideas in here but they are not really being executed to its full potential. Besides that i did like some of the songs but still...

POiSON GiRL FRiEND - MELTING MOMENT
82

Instrumentally “MELTING MOMENT” is so unique and lush it is in fact the best thing that is going on in the EP. While I think the vocals on some parts are kinda too loud and mixed weirdly it doesn't ruin my experience with the EP because of how good the instrumentals are. Shoutout to the pianos and violins on the EP genuinely likee.

Robyn - Sexistential
76

This sounds like gay divorced mom LCD soundsystem and a mix of Lorde’s “Virgin” with a tad bit of ‘Eusuxea”.
The first half of this album felt like it had so much to offer. The weird beats and weird vocals I was genuinely enjoying it, but as the album went on it kinda became more safe. I will give this album its props because of how experimental it is and I really do think it’s authentic to Robyn.

Björk - Vespertine Live
98

I just watched the film and well it's a bjork live film and album what do you expect yes it is perfect and stunning. Maybe i just love the studio version of the album so much that i have developed a bias over it but the main parts that i love about that album translate to these live performances. And of course there's the addition of a new song which by the way would have been a standout track if it was in the studio album...

dälek - Brilliance of a Falling Moon
80

Lyrically this is an amazing album but instrumentally in my opinion it gets repetitive quickly and drags at points. Overall I enjoyed it but definitely not as much as From Filthy Tongue of Gods and Griots.

Laura Marling - Song For Our Daughter
90

A really satisfying and warm folk album in which Laura Marling's voice invites you towards the perfect chilly songs. While the instrumentals aren't that experimental or “different” if i can say that, i believe that it doesn’t really need it. It's best when it’s telling a story. I want to point out the songwriting on this as well. It's very direct and very on point so it’s easy to understand and you know what she wants to convey. I have ... read more

Lucy Bedroque - Fête de la Vanille
81

This is some interesting ass production wait….. I love how they are in full control on this EP. Especially how they mix their voice is really interesting. Sometimes that mixing does backfire but it doesn't really bother me only on some occasions. I see the hype. The production sometimes does carry the Ep for me though.
favs song : Knot me; i am, she is, we are; how to pretend.

Joey Valence & Brae - HYPERYOUTH
79

I don’t think that this album is a switch up from No Hands. it has its great moments but also some just pretty normal moments, dry compared to others in my opinion. Do i prefer this over No hands no but is this still very enjoyable yes. The lyrics are repetitive by the time you get to the middle half but that closerrrr hmmm. Probably their best written and produced song in their discography. Overall it is fun and feels like a Joey valance and Brae album.

underscores - U

My second album listening experience from Underscores and well am impressed what can i say. I prefer this over wallsocket just based on vibes. This feels very grown up and more truly underscores to me personally (no hate to wallsocket i like that album). There are some certified bangers on here but highlights definitely are the singles, just such a good selection of songs like: music, do it, tell me (u want it) . Besides that since this was my first listen to the album I haven't been able ... read more

Death Grips - Steroids (Crouching Tiger Hidden Gabber Megamix)
88

This genuinely sounds like a combination of their other albums being in one single song. The beats are probably the most loud and aggressive from what albums I have listened to from them. It reminds me of the vocals on The powers that be and the instrumentals remind of a more aggressive version of bottomless pit. Overall is it their best? No. But I think the only reason for that is the short runtime of the ep.

kmoe - K1
79

Another album that has been sitting in my library but i haven’t reviewed… Kmoe is very much a new artist for me. I first saw him when i was watching something with Jane remover but anyway. I don’t really know how to categorise this type of music something like shoegazy hyperpop. Besides that, I am really impressed with the lyrics. A lot of stand out lyrical themes but also some questionable ones as well… I think the production on the album is pretty good but not a ... read more

Hole - Live Through This
84

After all this time in my library I finally listened to Holes “Live through this”. It may not be the most experimental album but it is an attention grabbing one for sure. Courtney Love's voice yearns for attention likeeee. I really have come to appreciate this album with more listens. The lyrics are hard hitting with intriguing guitar work. It may not be a very experimental album but for sure it stands out. Fav tracks: Doll parts; I think that i would die; Violet; ... read more

Arca - Entrañas
80

I just listened to this mixtape and I wanted to just write a review about it. First this is my second project I have listened to from Arca and well both are different from each other but they have some similarities. While Entrañas has its amazing moments some kind of felt underwhelming the experimentation is always there but maybe I was kind of missing Arca’s vocals since they were such a big part of kick III. I will admit I don't think i will be replaying this a lot but i ... read more

Fishmans - 98.12.28 男達の別れ [98.12.28 Otokotachi no wakare]
100

No cuz this is genuinely unreal...............
Long season will go down in the history book especially this version how do you take an already perfect song and turn it into a masterpiece just incredible..
And how the fuck is this a live performance
wtf.

Mitski - Nothing's About to Happen to Me
81

(My thoughts right after listening to the album so take this with a grain of salt).
The album overall instrumental wise is probably the main highlight for me. While I love the production moments and the lyrics and feel of the album I will say that I think Mitski could have gone weirder. Some songs feel kind of dry comparing them to the tracks that came before them. Fav song: Lightning; Where's my phone; I’ll change for you.

Ninajirachi - I Love My Computer
88

This is probably one of the most fun experiences I have had on an album in a long time. I literally got transported to 2016. It's so nostalgic in a way it feels like my childhood, especially growing up with the rise of media ( We can call it height of media content) but also just an incredibly produced album. The second half really just fucking gets the flowers for me. The first half is more poppy songs but the second half didn't need to go off so hard genuinely. I'm looking ... read more
