A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
80

"don't be dumb" by A$AP Rocky has been teased for over a year. now that is FINALLY out, here are my honest thoughts on this album
after almost eight years since "testing", rocky's first experimental album, he returns experimenting with more sounds: rage, screamo etc. and for the most part it works. every song feels unique and creative, from the rage style on "stole ya flow", the screamo style of "STFU" and the punk rock sound of the lead single ... read more

"monster" is, in my opinion, not just future's best mixtape, but his best release overall.
the production, especially on songs like "throw away", "codeine crazy" and the title track are perfect, fitting the vibe of this dark, sadistic project. it is addictive, and if these beats were on an instrumental album, i would love it.
if im being honest, the lyrics are not that strong. i don't mean that the writing is bad, it's very fun. but at the heart of ... read more

Roc Marciano - Reloaded
90

Roc Marciano has always been an underrated artist. his style is very unique, as despite having the name as a boxer, his style doesn't feel aggressive, but rather predatory. this style helps him stand out when comparing gangsta rap, and shows that you don't need to be "in your face" to be intimidating.
the album contains top class lyricism, especially on songs like "tek to a mack" and "76". the production accompanying the lyrics give the album a cinematic ... read more

Mobb Deep - The Infamous

in 1995, two young men from queensbridge, new york city, kejuan muchita(Havoc) and albert johnson(Prodigy) released their second album, "the infamous", to universal acclaim and superstar status in east coast hip-hop.
this album is the follow-up to their 1993 debut album "Juvenile Hell", which i have heard is terrible(I haven't listened to it). the sophomore album starts with one of the best 90s intros "the start of your ending(41st side)", which gives an ... read more

Mobb Deep - Infinite

coming back after 20 years since their last official release, "Blood Money", Mobb Deep have proven that they still got skill after a period of group silence.
the album feels like a respectful tribute to prodigy, who died in 2017 due to sickle cell complications, and i am glad that he didn't get screwed over like Pac, Juice WRLD, Pop Smoke and XXXTENTACION. on the album was by the second half of mobb deep, havoc, as well as critically acclaimed producer the alchemist, who give the ... read more

Pink Floyd - Animals

#4: pink Floyd - animals
animals is pink Floyd's tenth studio album. released in 1977, it features long-form compositions loosely based on George Orwell's book "Animal Farm", describing different classes in society as diffrent kinds of animals: the predatory dogs, the ruthless pigs, and the unquestioning sheep. I love this concept as i love animal farm, so i was able to grasp on the concepts in the songs and the album pretty easily. all the songs on the album(apart from the ... read more

Death - Leprosy

review #3: death - leprosy
one year after their influential and groundbreaking debut album "scream bloody gore", death returns with their sophomore album, "leprosy". on this album, chuck schuldiner and the group create a darker sound that, while doesn't reach the influence of their debut, tops it quality-wise. the album explores different concepts for each song that add to the experience, with the title-track being about the skin disease, "pull the plug" ... read more

Death - Scream Bloody Gore

review #2: death - scream bloody gore
this album is one of the pioneer records for death metal, as well as the first introduction to metal legends death. the album combines elements of thrash metal with death metal for an explosive, exciting experience which doesn't stop until the album's end. chuck's vocals and the guitar work make up the main point of why this album is great, but the song concepts are equally as great. i enjoy the gore-themed lyrics on most of the songs, ... read more

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out

The first clipse album in 16 years was definitely worth the wait.

Firstly, the production by Pharrell is amazing and feels like the same man who produced lord willin' and hell hath no fury in the 2000's. this makes the album stand out to others I have heard this year and is a reason you must check it out.

In terms of the rapping, it is captivating and keeps your attention and you will feel disappointed when it is over. Pusha T continues his 11 year long run of amazing projects(my ... read more
