Claud - Super Monster

heck, i'm gonna own this one. i really really enjoyed this album.

this sentence here is me releasing my anxieties for really enjoying an album that the rest of this website is kind of lukewarm on, and to properly own my opinion.

alright, let's continue:

Claud is easily able to convince me through varied instrumental topics and wide ranges on inflections within similar topics that they are an artist to watch for. from the important tone in "In Or In-Between" to the absolute ... read more

y'all just a bunch of major haters and some math minors, this album is very very clean.

yes yes okay there are MOMENTS within it's ENTIRETY that feel a little bit drab and i think maybe one or two songs could have been cut from this, but this is sophisticatedly sexy and the master on this is actually the best i've heard all year. a more maximalist album from this duo would be a 10/10 no contest.

however they didn't show up to the contest so all we got was an ENJOYABLE album, oh darn!!!

i was STUNNED to see how many positive reviews for this are on this website because in all honesty i thought this was absolute garbage.

just walked into the Hyatt after a seven hour drive and the music in the elevator is way too loud like WAY too loud, and all of a sudden this tipsy 40 year old woman who is a little tipsy from her post-convention cocktail hour with the colleagues and she starts singing in the elevator like omg hush up woman i just wanna go to BED.

the above scenario is what ... read more

Avril Ramona Lavigne (/ˌævrɪl ləˈviːn/ AV-ril lə-VEEN, French: [avʁil laviɲ]; born September 27, 1984)[1] is a Canadian singer, songwriter and actress. By the age of 15, she had appeared on stage with Shania Twain, and by 16, she had signed a two-album recording contract with Arista Records worth more than $2 million.

music is a fun thing that i like to listen to.

i can't wait to be the only person on this website to defend this album leggo.

this is really hard to pull off. like REALLY hard to pull off. every element is working against you, and everything needs to be so natural, which is so difficult given how perverse the two genres are to each other. it almost forces one to work outside of the two of them entirely.

which is why the first track and how it almost sounds like a The Comet Is Coming track and letting Th1rT3en just do his thing until the ... read more

"we have Idles at home"

which is the impression i got from i THINK like at LEAST the first two tracks on this, but then all of a sudden March Day comes in with this THICC BOY GUITAR LIKE WHAAAAAAAAAA but makes those AAAAA's like 72pt font in red and it blasts you to Kingdom Come or perhaps the Pizza Hut bathroom but it's still a good quick deuce.

the second half of this album flows impeccably well and is off to the races the whole time and Lucky Day just won Oscar one million ... read more

run of the mill country with a decent lick here and there until the title track comes on and it just makes me feel really really REALLY really awkward.

like being tone-deaf aside, the song itself is already schmultzy and bad and it makes me want to hire Phil Collins so he can take his guitar and whack Aaron's head like it's a game of t-ball.

maybe somebody will update this link with album art and maybe they won't i dunno.

a n y w a y s the shop i work in has a pretty finicky Sonos system we use for playing music and if the mastering is even the SLIGHTEST bit off, you can't even hear the album. some of these include Circles or American Football or basically any jazz record that a human being with an X chromosome created between the dawn of time and 2019. and lemme tell you when i put this one on i thought my system was busted and ... read more

maybe you can call this the first ~real~ album of 2022 to come out i guess and man oh man did i hop aboard the struggle bus for this thing.

tracks 2-5 are absolutely amazing, it's like Abel is going full Talking Heads / Depeche Mode / Kraftwerk / Daft Punk and it sounds so fkn fun and exciting, in gasoline he does this really fun vocal line and it's fun as HELL bro and then the transitions are all so upbeat and exciting and the extended version of Take My Breath is a trip and a half

On Deft's review of Quadeca - I Didn't Mean to Haunt You
"major props to you for really delving into the how and why and not sacrificing your integrity. i also, like many, respectfully disagree with this take, but it does bring up wonderful opportunities for discussion. i don’t believe that wearing influences on your sleeve or appealing to a certain crowd means the core musical experience is bad. this is something the mainstream has done far longer than Quadeca has. i can, however, understand why that would be frustrating, and almost exploitative. is that where this comes from?"
