Y'know, Rise Against has never quite been my cup of tea, bar a couple of singles over the years. But I'll be damned if this isn't a solid release. It's not exactly raising the bar, but I'm really impressed with how true to their ethos they've stood after all these years. It's seems they've held on to that spark, and are making music just as consistent as that of their earlier career.
I think they've explored dynamics and melody more intricately in the past, so this comes across as comparatively safe. Boring at times. But the faster melodramatic cuts are high energy fun. Perfectly honest hard rock and punk. Fans will probably love it.
