SZA - SOS
90

Usually I would have some issues with an album coming in at 23 tracks and 68 minutes, but this time I simply don't feel that way. SZA's writing and vocal performances across the entire record makes it feel shorter than it is. Most tracks are also quite short which gives the impression that you're quickly moving through the album, making it feel more digestable for some reason.

I love SZA's performance all across the album. Exploring a few different sound yet still making ... read more

Lana Del Rey - Norman Fucking Rockwell!
91

Incredible atmosphere to this record. Lana does a tremendoes job with the vocal performances on top of large, incredible instumentation. Absolutely love the entire record. Not a single bad track, not a single hiccup across the entire project. A truly beautiful listen.

Travis Scott - UTOPIA
83

UTOPIA is a crazy experience. My two main takeaways from this record is the fantastic production and Travis' rapping ability. I love most of the production across the record, especially tracks like "HYAENA", "MY EYES", "SIRENS" and "TIL FURTHER NOTICE". Travis' rapping performances across the record are impressive and his writing seems to have elevated quite a bit since his last record. While being packed with features, the album still feels ... read more

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
100

A record of gritty and raw hiphop. The members of the Wu-Tang Clan complement each other so perfectly and work together with amazing chemistry. Every member brings the energy and the skill to go with it. If any one member sticks out to me, its ODB (Rest in peace). His amazingly raw, eccentric delivery brings crazy energy and atmosphere to each track. He sticks out in the bunch and truly elevates everything. RZA does a tremendous job with the beats as well. Truly one of the greatest hiphop ... read more

Clairo - Charm
83

Charm is such a vibe. Love the instumentation on this record, particularly the percussion and piano throughout. Just a great album front to back.

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)
56

A mostly boring and repetitive record with some interesting moments. Once again, Eminem is adressing the "haters" and complaining about people being mean and disliking his and others' music. Meanwhile he is also pushing the message that people should stop whining about him saying mean things and just get over it. Most tracks also contain "edgy" bars that are supposed to encapture the "shock value" that Slim Shady represents. Rather than the effect it used to ... read more

Nina Simone - Nina Simone Sings the Blues
100

Incredible record. Nina Simone's vocals all across the record are simply magnificent. Its evident that the vocals were recorded on an old microphone as the sound quality isn't the best or the clearest. Although I would argue that that works in favour of the album as it gives of a very authentic vintage sound that fits perfectly and really adds to the feel of the record. Fantastic instrumentation, I love the frequent use of the harmonica as it also adds to the vintage sound. The guitar ... read more

Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
89

An incredible album opener followed by four more amazing tracks, just to end of the record on a bit of a downturn. The instrumentation on this record is incredible, especially the bass and electric guitar. Just a shame that the last two tracks don't reach the standard of the rest of the record. I am a bit split on "Back in Our Minds", as I feel that maybe I will come to appreciate that track more with time, however at the moment it doesn't quite hit for me. "Wars of ... read more

Madvillain - Madvillainy
100

MF DOOM is certainly one of the greatest rappers of all time. Nobody else can match the lyrical density and genius combined with humor. DOOM is a completely unique, one-of-a-kind rapper with heaps of personality. DOOM's strange yet genius flows and humor-infused lyrics fit perfectly over Madlib's production style. I like to imagine that DOOM and Madlib are each other's reflection in a way. Just like DOOM is a one of a kind lyricist with a very unique and quite peculiar delivery ... read more

Veronica Maggio - Handen i fickan fast jag bryr mig
85

An amazing swedish pop-record. One of the best swedish artists out there. This album is truly magical to me, although I suspect nostalgia might play a big part in that. Regardless I think this is one of, if not the best swedish record, at least pop-record, ever. Nostalgia for days combined with great vocal performances from Veronica makes for a great record. A swedish pop classic.

Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
100

Extraordinary record. Wonderful vocal performances over wonderful instrumentals, wonderfully produced. Simply fantastic. The talent of Stevie Wonder is truly undeniable.

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV
100

A fantastic record. Instrumentals and vocal performances absolutely on point. Wonderful production and a very concise, dense record at only eight tracks. A damn near perfect tracklist with absolute masterpieces like "Stairway to Heaven". Led Zeppelin IV is a damn near perfect rock album.

mgk - Hotel Diablo
82

Hotel Diablo is definitely mgk's best album. The record contains great production, very vulnerable writing and quite impressive rapping performances from Colson. The writing on this record is very vulnerable and direct which is very nice to get from mgk, especially hearing him reflect on how it was mentally to go through the beef with Eminem. The biggest problem I have with this record is the skits, while they do work to break up the album a bit they feel very out of place. Its a very ... read more

ScHoolboy Q - BLUE LIPS
92

ScHoolboy Q delivers his best record to date with "BLUE LIPS". A very interesting album with a duality in sound. The tracklist is filled with both hard hitting bangers and softer, more chill songs with lyrical depth. The production across the entire record is amazing and incredibly cinematic at times. This record sounds like it was made to stand the test of time. Certainly Q's best record to date.

Eminem - Tobey
58

Really enjoy the beat, some really nice synthesizers and building throughout the song. BabyTron comes through with an okay hook and decent verse. Big Sean really steals the show with a great verse and then Eminem drops yet another verse complaining about people saying he's not the GOAT. Eminem really needs to stop this bitter complaining that he has been doing for the past few albums. It's boring and just certifies the fact that he isn't the GOAT. At least he didn't just rap ... read more

Bring Me The Horizon - POST HUMAN: NeX GEn
74

A very good album with some fantastic instrumentation and quite good vocal performances.

Lupe Fiasco - Samurai
88

"Samurai" is an overall fantastic record. Incredible production with great performances and writing from Lupe. The production's fantastic, especially the drums stand out to me as they are consistently great throughout the entire record. There is a song or two where i found myself wishing for a bit more variety in the production as a very short drumloop was used for the entire track without switching. The eight tracks come together in a great way to form a very cohesive album. ... read more

James Blake - Bad Cameo
76

Quite a strong record from the duo. Blake and Yachty mix very well and it makes for a very interesting and good album. The biggest standout for me is probably "Transport Me", as the song offers some nice drumwork combined with some great synthesizers. Nothing outstanding, just an overall strong album from the duo.
