Despite it's emo tendencies, Radical is a very good piece of metalcore. The sound does get old after 16 tracks of basically the same sound, however, the production is very good and the band's ability to find a balance between the melodramatic and punk rock sides of metalcore is very admirable. I really like what they're doing here, it just gets old after fifty-minutes.

Like most of Lana’s albums it’s very flawed, but I love the direction she takes on a lot of these songs, and I think she’s only improved on writing her ballads. While on occasion there’s little rhyme or reason to what’s going on: the 1 hour runtime, the random spaghetti western trap beat interlude, or the shitty midi pianos on “Wildflower Wildfire”, she still has a lot to offer within this massive tracklist. “Text Book” is definitely one of ... read more

As someone who’s been seeing these guys live since their first performances in LA, it is truly awesome to see these guys make such a good debut record. It’s clear they’re influenced by their post punk contemporaries, but it’s evident that these guys have a great, original sound. Next stops would be 'Nixon' (catchiest album) and maybe 'OH (Ohio)' (very consistent and welcoming)...then I'd go 'FLOTUS' (the 'electronic' album) and 'Mr. M' (the bittersweet album).

If you want to try an early one from the band then 'What Another Man Spills' is a good one.

New Order 'Technique' I just don't really get the appeal of - I remember thinking it was close to the Pet Shop Boys at their most 'dance music' in style without any personality. I prefer the earlier New Order albums and I haven't got to the later ones yet.

Just wait for 48%.

Nah but seriously I was thinking of doing a list for my 2% ratings (I only have one 2% rating each year - the official worst album of the year) but just doesn't have the same magic as the 49%
