Logic - Supermarket
10

Who thought it was a good idea for Logic to make indie music? Oh yeah, Logic did. I appreciate that Logic is trying to be versatile, but this album is nowhere near a good example. I'm not even gonna get into why I hate this, because everyone hates it for the same reason: the lyrics and sound is horrible and disgusting. However, I would like to give a shout out to By the Bridge for being an interpolate of a god damn Your Favorite Martian song, yes that's true. Also a special shout out to ... read more

Lil Skies - Life of a Dark Rose
40

This kind of sound fits well for singles, but it doesn't work at all as an album. Almost every single off of this project is great. Welcome To The Rodeo, Lust, Lettuce Sandwich, and Nowadays are all great trap songs. However, every other song is just horribly boring and generic. It doesn't help at all that most of the other songs are lesser versions of the worst single, Red Roses. I already don't like Red Roses, so the fact that a lot of songs on here are just worse versions of Red Roses ... read more

The Arsonists - Cold

Remember kids, support your local bands

I found about this band through Instagram. Once I found out that they were a local band, I decided to check this EP out. This EP is actually pretty damn solid! Throughout the three tracks, you get a basic gist of what their sound is. The opener, Alex, is a piano & guitar driven song about school shootings, detailing how the current gun laws aren't good, the president doesn't care, and how there's been threats to his school. The title track, ... read more

Jack Stauber - Pop Food
90

This album isn't anything too significant, but god damn it sounds great. I've always been a fan of lo-fi, and this album nails that sound. Knowing that I like that kind of sound, my best friend recommended this album to me. It's safe to say that I absolutely love it. The production on here is mesmerizing, and gives off a great summer vibe, and yes, I'm going to be blasting this album this summer. The guitar work, the synths, Jack's quirky vocals, all of it is great. It's just a shame that ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR
100

All of Tyler's albums are vastly different from each other, and this is no exception. This project contains similar instrumentals as seen on Flower Boy, but they've been molded into a more "neo-soul" type of sound, with a sprinkle of distortion thrown into the mix, which adds to the charm. Tyler as a voice isn't as present as he is on most albums. In fact, he doesn't really rap on here that often. That's not really a problem. When Tyler IS vocally present, he's singing. It's not ... read more

Ween - The Mollusk
90

This album is an amazing example of versatility. Songs like I'm Dancing In The Show Tonight and Ocean Man are simple sing-a-long songs, while songs like Mutilated Lips and The Mollusk make for some great psychedelic songs. This album goes everywhere, yet it works.

best tracks: The Mollusk, Mutilated Lips, the Blarney Stole, The Golden Eel, Pink Eye, Buckingham Green, Ocean Man

Death Grips - Bottomless Pit
90

I remember the first time I tried to listen to this album. It was at the time when I was just getting into Death Grips. I only got halfway through this album before I gave up. The sound found on Bottomless Pit was a sound that I just wasn't accustom to and did not like on first listen. A few months passed, and Bottomless Pit became my favorite Death Grips album.

Bottomless Pit is by far the loudest and most abrasive album made by Death Grips. It cuts straight to the chase with the opening ... read more

Iglooghost - Neō Wax Bloom

There's so much happening in this album, and I love it. This is brain candy, and I can't get enough of it

best tracks: Super Ink Burst, Bug Thief, Purity Shards, Infinite Mint, Solar Blade

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

One word: SOUNDSCAPES

If you want a classic album with masterful production and beautiful soundscapes, Wish You Were Here is the perfect album. I'm not usually a fan of long songs, but Shine On You Crazy diamond is the perfect example of an exception. Welcome To The Time Machine sounds absolutely beautiful. Have A Cigar has amazing storytelling and detail, and it's a song that makes you think. And the title track is one of the best songs of all time. The Wall wasn't really my kind of ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy

Listening to this album for a full year now, and it hasn't gotten old at all! That says something for an album. This is the closest an album has gotten to legitimately perfect, at least for me

Joji - BALLADS 1
90

BALLADS 1 is Joji's debut project from 88rising. With amazing songs like Slow Dancing In The Dark, is the album as a whole good?

This album is a huge step up from In Tongues, though I'm comfortable with saying that this is nowhere near the songs he released during the Chloe Burbank era. Sure, there are some truly good songs on here like SDITD, TEST DRIVE, WANTED U, and I'LL SEE YOU IN 40. However, with good usually comes bad. The album starts out really great with all the singles, but ... read more

C418 - Minecraft - Volume Alpha

So many people are going to disagree with me on this.

I absolutely adore the Minecraft soundtrack. To sum it up, it's calming, ambient, soothing, and adds a nice tone to the already calming game. Every element in the soundtrack works exceptionally well to create this masterpiece.

I first got into Minecraft in 6th grade. In middle school, I would play the game every day after I got home. Just like everybody, I hated middle school. It was awkward, hard, and I was a horrible child who did ... read more

twenty one pilots - Trench

After three years, Twenty One Pilots release their long awaited 5th album, and is it any good?

This is hands down the best Twenty One Pilots album to date. I've heard people say that this is Blurryface done well, and I have to agree with them. This project shares a lot of the same elements with Blurryface, but unlike the previous album, this album seems to be a lot more focused and subtle. For one, the lyrics on here are nowhere near as bad as they are on Blurryface. In fact, most of the ... read more

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
90

Going into this album, I expected mostly emo pandering, because the fanbase kind of gives that idea. However after a couple of listens to this album, my expectation were completely wrong. This has to be one of my favorite albums I've ever heard.

The story in this album works so well. This album tells the story of a cancer patient, all the different emotion the patient feels, and flashbacks to the patients past. In the past, the patient seemed to be not that great of a person, so in the ... read more

ITS REDUX REVIEW TIME, EVERYBODY

twenty one pilots will always hold a special place in my heart. I pretty much fell in love with their music during eighth and ninth grade for various reasons. So whenever I listen to music by them nowadays, even though the song might not even be worth coming back to, it takes me back to a time of my life where everything was much more simple, whether that be just hanging out with my friends at the lunch table in eighth grade mixing different flavors of ... read more

Trippie Redd - LIFE'S A TRIP
NR

This is the first Trippie Redd album I've fully listened to, and I have to ask myself... is it any good?

I'm gonna be honest, the good areas on this album are really damn good. Songs like Taking a Walk and Missing My Idols are great songs that I can vibe along with. I'm very thankful that Wish is on this album. If Wish actually becomes a hit, It'd be in my top 5 for sure.

Though the good moments are great, let's talk about the bad areas of this album. Either some tracks are good but ... read more

Travis Scott - Rodeo
90

This is definitely one of the best trap records I've ever heard. Going into this I was expecting just trap bangers. Instead I got eerie, atmospheric trap that somehow manages to activate all my senses, and at times made me nut myself. There were very few low moments, and the low moments weren't really that apparent to begin with, I'm just a nitpicker.

Edit: I just listened to this full album on a three hour bus ride while drowsy and tired as hell, and every quality just seemed to get ... read more

Denzel Curry - TA13OO
90

This was the first full Denzel Curry album I've ever listened to. Is it good?

First thing I want to point out is how the album is set up. The project is split into 3 different parts: light, grey, and dark. Of course the light tracks are on the light track, etc. This was a good premise, and it was executed perfectly. Now, how about the songs? Most of them are god damn amazing. I love the calmer, lighter songs in the beginning, and I love the bangers even more. What stands out is the ... read more

88rising - Head In The Clouds
50

I'd like to start out with a question. Am I an 88rising dick-rider? Yes, yes I am.

This debut album by 88rising is a collective of many artists on the 88rising label. I feel like this album succeeds at being an all around summer bop. Is it more than that? No, not really. Funny enough, I really only like half of the songs on here, so the album should at most get a 50. I don't know why I'm adding an extra 20. The production is well done on every song. It's just that half of the bangers ... read more

5 Seconds of Summer - Youngblood
40

5 Seconds of Summer go for a new sound, but is it any good.

Well, not really. The sound that the band goes for is a much more indie-pop sound, as as much as I respect that, the final result was overall not that good. A lot of the songs are just plain stupid. If Walls Could Talk is a great example of the stupidity in this album. The hook tries to sound deep and clever, but ends up making no sense at all.

There were other songs that didn't sound right. The lyrics in Valentine do not mesh ... read more
