This album is a masterpiece.
I haven't heard anything like this in so long. Every song flows together excellently, and the overall mood that this album sets is true beauty and color in audio form. More than 3,000 samples were used for this project, which is extremely impressive, and is even more impressive that every sample on here that wouldn't really work in any other album... works!
By far the best project XXXtentacion has ever put out.
I really enjoy a good majority of the tracks on here. Unlike "?" where he seemed to try a bit too hard with versatility, he versatility on here actually works quite well. Production on here is amazing as well. There's not a lot that I can say about this mixtape that's negative. Most of the mixtape just works for me. Even tracks that I would seem to hate like "Looking for a Star" just work with me for some reason. ... read more
This is sure a change from the older Joji...
I praise Joji's unfinished Chloe Burbank mixtape. However, this newer EP is just... ok. It's not amazing like Chloe Burbank, it's just ok to me. I completely get why somebody wouldn't like this. It's moody, underdeveloped, and at times, cringey. However, I love a lot of the production on here, and Joji's vocals throughout are pretty solid. The severely underwritten lyrics just bring everything down for me, sadly. Unlike in Chloe Burbank, he ... read more
Absolutely fantastic album
This is the second project by Death Grips I've listened to, and I have to say that this is such an amazing listen. The Money Store impresses me in every aspect. Every bit of production on here is unorthodox, but amazing. The experimental, in your face production combined with the lyrics perfectly sums up the story about a troubled person and his/her struggles.
All the members of Death Grips bring their A game when it comes to expressing raw and loud ... read more
This project is a HUGE step up from Stoney. The album succeeds at the ideas that Stoney tried to convey, but Stoney fell horribly short at conveying those ideas.
Post's voice is much more clean and controlled on here. The better voice fits in with the better production nicely. The majority of this album is Post leaning towards a more chilled out voice.
The production on here is amazing. It gives each songs a unique and individual sound. I appreciate the variety on here, where it ranges ... read more
This album is absolutely dull and boring. There's really nothing to this.
Drake, as always, decides to be Drake on here and be as lifeless as ever. In fact, all these songs are so lifeless that I could replace Drake with ANY rapper on here and it wouldn't change the fact that it's dull and lifeless. Eminem and Denzel could be on one of these tracks and there would still be no life to it.
The production is cheap and lifeless. That's all I need to say about that

Yeah, this album is pretty terrible. It's just a huge downgrade of what Linkin Park used to be. Linkin Park pushed boundaries. But with this record, they merely follow trends. This isn't rock anymore, it's generic EDM and electro-pop.
Tracks like Halfway Right and Invisible are just painfully generic. LITERALLY anybody else could have done these songs and it wouldn't sound different.
Tracks like Battle Symphony and Heavy are "the worst thing in the history of anything" as IHE ... read more
I get why this mixtape hasn't gotten a great reception. Yes, the songs in here are heavily influenced by other artists doing the exact same thing. But even though the mixtape is heavily influenced, is it really that bad?
This mixtape is one to not take completely seriously. It's just for partying to and vibing with. There isn't a huge deep meaning behind everything. I honestly dig the carefree vibe some of the songs give off. I will admit, in some parts he is lyrically mediocre, but for ... read more
This is one of the more emotional albums I've heard this year. August details the worn down relationship he's in right now, and how he feels about it. We can assume that his significant other is Candace, since there is a narrative piece appropriately titled "Candace," and this Candace person seems to be tired with August.
Structurally, as an album, it's pretty damn solid. We get to experience the many situations and emotions he's going through all in only eight tracks.

Beware the Book of Eli is the third mixtape released by Ski Mask the Slump God. At this point, Ski Mask should have improved significantly right? With this project, not exactly. With Ski Mask, he almost always brings a really nice flow and cartoony lyrics to his content. He does the same for this project, but for some reason it just feels more bland and boring. For the most part, it's because of the beats given to him and the features.
The beat to Suicide Season should never have been ... read more
These aren't songs
These are advertisements with a generic trap beat.
This mixtape is the equivalent of Steve Buscemi saying "How do you do, fellow kids?" Every beat is generic trash. The punchlines are so bad that McDonalds actually fixed their ice cream machines out of pity. There is nothing to this worth listening to. This makes me want to listen to Total Xanarchy, and Total Xanarchy is usually a punchline for me, but I guess I'll use this mixtape as a punchline, and the ... read more
Sen Morimoto's multi-instrumentalist sound is one to be heard by anyone.
So much of Sen's talent and thoughts about his observations were poured on to this project. Even just by the amazing album cover, you can already expect the kind of sound you're gonna here. This multi-instrumentalist style amazes me, and honestly, the worst parts about the album was when he wasn't using the jazz-rap multi-instrumental style.
On a lyrical aspect, he speaks about his observations, and gives his ... read more
Wait, this is a soundtrack to a high budget movie?!?
This is one of, if not, the BEST soundtrack from a movie I've heard. Everything about this just amazes me, and at times I doubt myself that this is a freakin SOUNDTRACK.
The artists in TDE really put their A game into this project. Everything from SZA's smooth vocals in All The Stars, to the powerful gross bass in Opps is just completely on point. The transitions at the end of the songs bring me back to the fact that "Hey, this ... read more
I've heard a few Death Grips songs prior to this, but Year Of The Snitch was the first full project I listened to.
From the limited amount of songs I've heard prior to this, I can even tell that this is probably their most diverse album as of now. Usually, the albums tend to focus on one genre, and then expand off of that. However, with this, they incorporated many different genres.
As far as I've read about them, Death Grips are hit or miss with their songs. A good half of this was hit ... read more
Eh, this album is pretty meh for me. Anthony Fantano describes this perfectly as a "mixed bag," where you can get moody trap, club bangers, or even metal.
Admittedly, X is pretty versatile when it comes to genres. Songs like ALONE PART 3 and The Remedy For A Broken Heart sound like throwaways from "17." Going Down!, $$$ and SMASH! are club bangers, and are the dullest parts of the album for me. Pain = BESTFRIEND, Numb and Schizophrenia are rock and metal tracks.

It's re-review time! I wanna work on a ranked list of all the albums I listened to in 2018, so I'll probably be doing a few of these since I forgot what a lot of albums were like.
I listened to this album during the height of it's popularity. At the time I thought Invasion of Privacy was really good, and was impressed by a lot of it. Relistening to the record made me completely rethink what the album was to me. Sure, the album still has a ton of personality, whether it be Cardi B herself, ... read more
First off, I have to say that this album is much better than "Ye" in every aspect possible. Both Kanye and Cudi bring their A game on this short project. "Ye" was overall really boring when I listened to it. It didn't grab my attention like this project did.
The only track I don't really care for on here is "Freeee." I don't really like the way they say "Freeeeeeeeeeeee." It rubs me the wrong way.
Other than that track, the rest of the album is ... read more
