Some very hard hitting lyrics and themes about ego death and finding yourself, paired with the best fusions of glitch pop and midwest emo I've ever heard in my life. Of course this was going to win me over on just the first listen. I found out about Brakence through his feature on "A La Carte," by Quadeca, one of my favorite songs of this year (2024). Immediately I was hooked through his unique voice. It only takes a good couple of hours to listen to his short but impressive ... read more
Lucy has slowly become one of my favorite artists as of recent, with a spanning catalogue of weird outsider bedroom pop songs. There’s this really unique charm to his music that people seem to either love of can’t stand. Recently, Lucy went on tour as the opener for King Krule. Following each performance I’d see a TikTok talking about how weird the opener was lol.
Now we turn to 2024, and Lucy graces the beginning of the year with his latest work, 100% PROD I.V., with ... read more
What an insane debut single from Laserheart. I love how this foreboding and ominous atmosphere builds and builds throughout the song until it falls apart during the third leg. I'm more than excited to see what Laserheart creates in the future.
Already cemented as one of my favorite songs to come out in 2023. I love the sheer creativity put into this song, and it's been really sick seeing Ken M evolve throughout the course of their musical journey. Can't wait to see what they do next :)
Jay Yerba, fka, Aubs Eternal, evolves and masters their sound wonderfully with this new instrumental tape. Peace Be With You displays some really tight percussion work and an amazing ear for samples throughout, all forming to create their best work yet. Someone's gotta rap on these for sure.
Finishing off the year with an amazing double single from Bladee. Such a good evolution from previous albums like Crest and Spiderr, expanding more on his synthpop instrumentation, though the lyrics on here are a lot more downtrodden then other recent Bladee projects, so I hope the mans ok.
WE'RE SMOKING FILTERED CRACK, YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!
Truly one of the greatest albums I've ever listened to. Such a dark, twisted and uneasy listen, packed full of noise and emotion. This really feels like an album that NEEDED to happen, with the lyrics diving into themes of being used by someone with great power. Jane took this trauma and channeled it into her art, creating this bold, cathartic soundscape of which she absolutely kills. It's been truly mesmerizing seeing Jane over the years evolve into quite the amazing artist. Hell, her ... read more
Avenades long awaited third album, Our Raging God Unknown to Us, is his most realized and cohesive record yet
