Absolutely phenomenal debut album. Jakey's been one of my favorite musicians to come from YouTube recently, and whilst being one of the best creators on the platform, has occasionally dropped some stellar tracks here and there like "Saintlike," "Not Dead Yet," and "Medium." He announced this album at the beginning of the year, set for release in February, before being delayed for months on end. At the end of the year it finally dropped, and what came of it is a ... read more
If God turned me into a flower, I'd personally let Weyes Blood pick me
Crazy that this album is shorter than an episode of Breaking Bad, which is exactly what I watched with my roommate after I finished listening to this. For what it is, Smithereens has some cool ideas and some brilliant songs on it, but for the most part just kinda goes in one ear out the other. Idk man, Joji’s doing his thing and he’s doing it well, but it would’ve been sick to hear these songs maybe more fleshed out and LONGER.

Good song btw
Happy birthday to my favorite album of like... ever!

This original version is still excellent, Will's clever songwriting is still there, and while the instrumentation may not be as well fleshed out as it is on Face to Face, it's got a lo-fi slacker element that I really have grown ... read more
I suffer with severe anxiety disorder, and I tend to get really anxious even in the most slightly stressful situations. This album tends to work the best in helping me feel a lot better and calmer. It's just the most beautiful, masterfully crafted album to put me at ease. Love this one to death
My gf left to go to class so I can blast this new DG joint as loud as I want !!!
I recently rediscovered this song after listening to it from time to time a year ago while I would play games and what not. Rediscovering it now has me absolutely addicted to it. I haven't been able to get that melody out of my head for DAYS. "Rydeen" is just one of the most fun songs I've ever heard, and should be recognized as a classic amongst early synthpop works.
