Let's Start Here.

I don't really like the way Lil Yachty sounds in his music, but it fits the production on this album really well. And I think the production is really good! It creates such a unique atmosphere that really can only be described as psychedelic. The cover art for this project is really weird and unnerving, almost making you feel like you're mis-seeing those faces, as they're somewhat close to normal looking, and the music echoes that feeling pretty well.

As I'm not a big fan of how Lil Yachty himself sounds, I kind of want to see an alternative project that's all spoken word, like the track :(failure(:. Even though it's just him speaking in a normal cadence without the vocal distortion, I think it still works pretty well. It kind of changes the way the unnerving psychedelia of the project affects you, as having dissonance between Lil Yachty and the production definitely creates a different atmosphere than when he complements it.

I'm very interested to see where Lil Yachty goes from here. I'd like to see him continue down this path, but based on Spotify streams this doesn't seem to have been as popular as his older music. I really hope that this album truly is a new start for him and not something to half-commit to before making more "Poland"s.
