guys you don't get it they're literally just friends and they make amazing sad music and they make me cry over and over and over. i have cried to every song on this album and i'd do it again. this came out at a time in my life where the lyrics were (and continue to be) a slap in the face and a knife to the heart. the first time i listened to across the pond friend i started crying uncontrollably and it has happened many times since, no album has ever affected me in such a visceral way before. ... read more
okay i think this album sounds incredible and i love it dearly, but it draws absolutely no emotions from me.
have cried my heart out to this many many times and plan to do so again many more times
there's nothing to say really - it's just perfect. perfect album for late at night.
It just leaves me wanting more. There was a point in my life when I preferred this to loveless which is just insane, I have no idea what i was thinking.

incredible album, so raw and powerful.
In my opinion this is Fiona Apple's weakest album.... which is saying something because this is incredible.
so beautiful and heartbreaking .i especially love the more angry songs like sleep to dream, shadowboxer, and carrion.
