King Gizzard has put out many albums in many different genres and almost every album has good songs and the ones that you like the least (or even hate), but when it became clear that we will get a double LP from Gizz a question rose: how many songs will be just fillers?

Let's be real, double LPs usually get boring toward the end and really don't have to offer that much on the second half (other than a few cool songs probably), but this album is... something else. You can disagree here and say ... read more

This isn't bad, but it's not that good either, it's just fine. I like some songs, I dislike one, it's just a cool yet mid post-hardcore album mixed with some other stuff. Lacks dynamics and heaviness sometimes, lacks good production on some songs, but in general it's fine. I prefer other bands though.

Honestly... I think the wait was worth it. It wasn't even that long, to be honest...
Clearly, Closure / Continuation has everything a Porcupine Tree album needs to have and it all sounds amazing, so I have almost no complains. The only thing I can complain about is literally that they didn't include bonus tracks on an actual album to make it even more like an actual full-on another P/T album (with poppy piano songs, instrumental bops and all that).
I'm happy that the band came back (even ... read more

To be honest, after revisiting this album, I don't think it sounds bad at all. It's just a quality project with good sound, but without that interesting songwriting. I, obviously, don't like the vocals on most of the songs, but in tracks like the closer they work really good. If they added more of those and less of the other ones, I'd love this record even more. But in terms of sound production and the instrumentals - this album is great. I really hope for Sungazer and wish them the best for ... read more

Unfortunately, the band's worst songs (in my opinion) are on here (I'm talking about 'Out of Here' and 'The Shadow Side'), but the rest is fine, with some standouts. The thing I don't mainly like about this album is that it tries to be semi-heavy and create really nice and poppy melodies at the same time, so, basically, tries to be Anathema, but it doesn't work here at all, in my opinion. Leprous need to continue to do their thing, maybe do a full-on art pop album, I don't know, but Aphelion is ... read more

I think that the experiment itself is fine, but on here Leprous are back on sounding too poppy for my taste, even though the instrumentals and vocals are great on all songs, it's the composing that loses me. Sill though, overall this is a nice album.
