I was not expecting this to be as heavy as it actually was, so I was really surprised when the second song hit in. Although, I think this might be the most basic Opeth album ever. It's still nice and enjoyable, it just feels even weirder than Sorceress - it's too heavy for an Opeth prog-rock album, it's too theatrical, the sound production is too out and about, which I don't really like, but at some point it might do for a good listen. In Cauda Venenum is definitely not a bad album, it's just good yet really strange; I can't normally take it as an Opeth LP.
